FUCK YEAH! I'm listening to side D now, & there's nothing like it. "Lee #2", "That's All I Know Right Now", followed by the live version of "The Destroyed Room" (entitled "The Bedroom") from the Dirty Boots single. You can't get much better than that. |

M-M-M-M-Metronome charisma, keeping time in sling shot tempo
Stole your recipe, the ghostship cemetary, we won't lie |
prepare your sleep apparatus
and while you sleep, they will come and get you tonight Let them take what they've been missing! What if forensics finds the answers What if they stole my fingerprints? Where did I leave my book of matches? We'll find you... amnesia proletariat, amnesia proletariat, malfunction, malfunction, whispers in the year 300 MHz This dance is out of rhythm, we trip on excess steps, postponed at the first showing. You speak in tongues, tremors that warn us of ourselves. Nothing bleeds like, walk away born in hearts, etched in cold, at the first showing. |
Haha, you're aces, screamingskull.
|
i just listened to the whole album, and those were the lyrics that i knew and that stood out.
They sill blow me away, i have listened to that album like 5000 times, and it is still so powerful and beautiful and amazing. i am now on this - Sacrifice on Railroad Tracks Freight-Freight train coming, Freight-Freight train coming Un-Un-Unconscious tied and gagged Freight-Freight train coming, Freight-Freight train coming on another note - who is it that speaks on the answer machine at the beginning of this? it doesn't sound like Cedric, Omar or Jim. |

It's Iggy Pop. |

Oh, that makes so much sense!!! thanks!!! I don't know why i didn't figure that one out for myself earlier! |
Quote:
I didn't think about it at first then I read it somewhere and thought "Why didn't I know. It's so obvious." |
The soundtrack of course. |

Nope, not at all. Only given to radio stations. All the stuff on is on Tremulant, singles and UK editions. |
Quote:
ok, i was going to ask you if you had Ambuletz, its my all time favourite TMV song, but i realised it was only on the Uk version of De-Loused. |
Quote:
Ha, yeah. The Lost Dog Tapes Bootleg. |
Quote:
Ambuletz is totally off-the-wall to anything else they've ever done. I've been meaning to reverse it and see what the backwards singing is. |
Quote:
It's so.......................drug fueled. Amazing though, absolutely amazing. the lyrics are supposed to be - Oh lord, Oh lord, You've made it.... You wanna drag your vessel you wanna hush your voices you better drag your... you better hush your... I'll remember that I'll need to carry on I'll pretend you're not around, I'll forget you just like everyone else, I'll forget you is there anybody around, I'll forget you just like anyone just because, just because, just because do you come here ohhh shiver around, shiver around oh lord, oh lord, you've made it.... You wanna drag your vessel You wanna hush your voices ...hush your mouth But i swear i can hear Cedric singing "i love you" a bunch of times during the song. |
I just reversed it and still can't make out anything in the beginning. It sounds like he could just be singing the same stuff, only softer and in reverse.
|
hmmmm, as i said, out of all of the songs they have ever written, Ambuletz is the most out-there drugged up song.
Its a shame they don't write songs like that anymore, but i am also really really happy that they don't write songs like that anymore. |
Yeah, I believe they wrote and recorded that at rock-bottom.
|
Quote:
ha ha ha ha ha ha, made me laugh out loud. but um no, sad, rock-bottom was 2003? |
Quote:
Well, let's see...they recorded De-loused in 2002 and 2003. Jeremy died in May and the album came out in June. So, yeah, late 2002-early to mid 2003 was probably rock-bottom. |
