I've no idea what the Roundhouse is like, I'm afraid. I'm sure that someone from the board went to see Cat Power there though.

edit - It was Screamingskull.

porkmarras 02.20.2007 10:08 AM

Was it not closed a few years ago?It must have been re-opened recently because i was under the impression that it was no more.

screamingskull 02.20.2007 10:10 AM

i saw cat power there in november, its pretty nice and clean and they have strange food available. the exit is terrible though, you will spend 20mins+ trying to leave the venue.

I keep almost crying, im so happy and excited!!!!!

and we will have to have a big meet up, ALL THE SONIC YOUTH BOARDIES!!!!

EvdWee 02.20.2007 10:10 AM

the website says about 3000 people...

sonicl 02.20.2007 10:11 AM

What are the views of the stage like, Screamingskull, and how good is the sound?

pokkeherrie 02.20.2007 10:13 AM

would this sell out soon? if i'd hop over to the uk i'd want to get a ticket for the standing space of course...

The Building
Q. What Is the Roundhouse?
A. The Roundhouse is the largest performing arts centre in North London, excluding Alexandra Palace and Wembley — which are arena spaces.
Q. What was the original building used for?
A. Originally it was a steam engine turning shed. To find out more about the building visit the History section.
Q. How many people does the Roundhouse hold?
A. 3,000 standing, 1,800 seated in the Main Space. 120 seated in the new FREEDM Studio.

screamingskull 02.20.2007 10:14 AM

it's a round venue, there is a step down close to the stage, but apart from that it is completely flat, so don't stand behind anyone tall!!!
There is a balcony around the outside edge, but people on there would have a pretty shit view i think.

screamingskull 02.20.2007 10:18 AM

i feel sorry for all the other posters on here who are at work right now and are unaware of this :( GET HOME SOOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!!!!

sonicl 02.20.2007 10:20 AM

Do you really think we don't look at the board when we're at work? :D

Not that it matters too much, I don't think it's going to sell out this afternoon.

deathbyfeedback 02.20.2007 10:23 AM

this is literally going to be the best thing ever.

i believe daydream nation (with the exeption of total trash) to be the single greatest work of music ever recorded, and i likes my music.

for me (and screamingskull) it will be the best thing ever. even better seeing them at both ATP shows in minehead.

lungfish 02.20.2007 10:29 AM

incredible.
wish i could be in England then.

sonicl 02.20.2007 10:34 AM

This may sound a tad ungrateful, but I'd rather see them perform EVOL or Sister. I'll enjoy Daydream Nation, I'm sure, but one of those two really would rock my socks off.

It'll be interesting to see what they'll do with DDN these days (Please don't let it just be a straightforward performance of each song), but it just seems a little bit of a predictable choice.
