Touch and Go block party

Who's going to the Touch and Go 25th anniversary block party

NEWS: June 27, 2006 - More Lineup Announcements!

OK, can you keep a secret? We just found out about more bands playing the Touch and Go 25th Anniversary Celebration. The first? Arcwelder. They never come around any more, so here's your chance. Xerxes, Pull, Everest... they’ll be pulling songs from all the classics. It will be awesome.
But that’s not all. Get a load of this: Big Black is gonna play a couple songs. For real. Big Black. Now, they’re not playing a full set or anything... just a couple songs, but who cares how many they play? This is Big Black, playing live, for the first time in nearly 20 years! It’s the old school line-up: Albini, Durango, Pezzati. And believe it or not, they’re not even the 25th band.

There are still more surprises to come, so stay tuned.

I'd consider giving you a discount if you promise to wear that sexy undergarment I see in your avatar.

Lollapalooza, pitchfork festival, and now this...

Oh, of course. It is the only thing I ever wear.

luxinterior 07.31.2006 02:55 PM

When I bought the tickets I just assumed I would be able to go. Sure, I'm supposed to be in "college," or whatever, but I have no idea when the actual classes start. It's all in the same city, so I didn't think it would be a problem.

habibtheantiamericanbitch 07.31.2006 08:16 PM

i can't stand chicago. everytime i go there i spend way too much $$$ on nothing. this should be in Detroit- the birthplace of T&G.......

i need to see Killdozer dammit!!

krastian 07.31.2006 08:30 PM

I'd like to see Man or Astroman again.....are they touring?

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.01.2006 12:53 AM

I'd really love to see Big Black, but I can't justify it, since I am going to see Shellac and Sonic Youth within about a week of eachother just a little before that.

_slavo_ 08.01.2006 02:01 AM

oh shit, Big Black? Shipping News? Man or Astroman?
wish i was there, but there's no chance.

nomadicfollower 08.01.2006 11:13 AM

I'm might have the chance to go. I really hope I get to.
Scratch Acid is playing, too, right?

3 free beer tickets?
say no more!

EricsTrip 08.07.2006 01:11 AM

I'd go to this if Polvo was reuniting for it

sonikold 08.08.2006 01:50 PM

i wanna go, but that's the only weekend that anything cool ever happens in my town, so now i'm conflicted. scratch acid, big black and man or astroman is too good to pass up, though.

NEWS: August 11, 2006 - the 25th band and much more!

We’re proud as hell to introduce the final addition to the Touch and Go 25th Anniversary Block Party: legendary D.C. punks The Monorchid. If you were lucky enough to catch them during their brief lifespan (1996-1998), you’re probably still reeling from the impact. If this is your first time, you might want to strap on a helmet. And maybe some shoulder pads.

In addition to the current lineup, we have invited a number of our artists to do some solo and duo performances in between the 25 full-band performances. The list of artists include: Sally Timms, PW Long, Tim Midgett and Andy Cohen (Silkworm), Brick Layer Cake, Cash Audio, Tara Jane ONeil, and Jon & Kat (Mekons and The Ex).

View the lineup now - including what artists on what days.

A limited number of single-day tickets go on sale Friday, August 18.
Go to the tickets page for updated info on advance tickets, and ticket availability at the event.
