Alright, lets here. We need some positive Sonic discussion.

Confusion Is Sex era orgy.

'Shaking Hell', especially the live version on Kill Yr Idols, makes me imagine some old soviet-era Russian film, where workers mine with pickaxes in that weird jolty movement that is typical of old film.

I love the way he says that line for some reason.

I have this album but i must confess I've found it a little difficult to get into (of course I love 'Making The Nature Scene'). There seems to be a wealth of excellent ideas on CIS but they seem a little underdeveloped. Its an interesting document if only to note the development of the band (Listen to this then listen Evol or Daydream Nation).I suppose its difficult to appreciate this album from our point of view (having other more developed sonic youth albums). But when this came out it must have been mindblowing. If Sonic Youth are ahead of their time now imagine the effect this would have had!

this is their best album. Its just pretentious and cool and thats all that matters. If Sonic Youth would have never made a record after this that would have been fine....

It is like No Wave + Talent.

fuck talent, it was all about creativity. DNA was great and so was Sonic Youth...

I know but Sonic Youth made it more interesting because they could actually make it sound decent. It is like Arab on Radar vs. Hospitals. Hospitals is just annoying herk-jerk and AOR is talented and fun yet still herk-jerky.

By descent you mean more like rock. In which case I would disagree because I hate rock, but its all opinion....
