Guns Guns Guns

Inspired by a thread in another forum I'm at...
How many of you guys own guns? Other than soldier boy I mean.

My brother has a paint ball gun AND a bb gun. Better watch out.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 12.05.2006 06:27 PM

me
we own so many of them, makes me feel really safe & warm inside

static-harmony 12.05.2006 06:29 PM

I don't own them, I think they are wrong, but I feel that if people want to own them that is up to them. But I do believe in harsh regulations in order to get them.

That's the same as me. Guns are fucking scary.

static-harmony 12.05.2006 06:34 PM

Yeah, i feel they are bad, but unlike most supposed left-wings I don't advocate banning them.

No one will ever ban guns, it's pretty much a lost cause. As much as I'd like them to disappear

static-harmony 12.05.2006 06:40 PM

I think it is a silly idea to ban guns, if you really think about it.

Although I should be opposed as to where I grew up, as a kid there was violence all over my neighborhood.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 12.05.2006 06:43 PM

you guys are silly.

By no-one you mean the majority of countries other than the United States, right?

I'd like to see gun-ownership abolished in America. I can't see any fathomable reason for the majority to own them. Rural types/ hunting enthusiasts/ fans of Pheasant, yes. Over here it's quite difficult to get a gun for hunting/ rural things, but it is possible. Even a lot of farmers don't bother with one. I've been out shooting before, at the range and tin cans. It's fun, but I don't feel my constitutional rights have been violated if I have or haven't got a gun.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 12.05.2006 06:46 PM

i dont really agree with people who carry their guns in their cars or walk around public places with guns
but i think that its okay to have them at home for protection
or if you're a collector
and if you like to go huntin'

yep.

Glice 12.05.2006 06:49 PM

This 'protection' is a curious idea. I have a baseball bat by the side of my bed for 'protection', but I'd get arrested if I ever used it. AND it'd be a great deal harder for me to kill someone 'protecting' myself with a baseball bat.

It occurs to me I should have a cricket bat in the interests of stereotypes.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 12.05.2006 06:51 PM

dont know yalls rules over yonder
but here, if someone is on yr property
you can shoot em down

god bless texas
(and john wayne)

Glice 12.05.2006 06:54 PM

Until someone did actually die from getting shot whilst trespassing, it was the same over here. Now you're only allowed to use reasonable force. The ruling on having whacking great fucking bear traps in your enormous back garden is still ambiguous, however. Hello! You're a parochial joke! Where did you come from? Jolly nice that you turned up, what?

Pookie 12.05.2006 06:54 PM

I think if you want to know why America is so fucked up you just need to look at the issue of gun ownership. The whole "guns don't kill, people do" bollocks.

The argument that there wouldn't be less people killed if gun ownership were restricted, and just the basic mis-reading of the American constitution, which at no point says that people have a right to own guns:

"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

Where to start with that badly constructed, extremely ambiguous sentence.

static-harmony 12.05.2006 06:57 PM

See the fore-fathers thought it would be a great idea if the constitution was ambiguous so each generation can decide for themselves.

nomadicfollower 12.05.2006 06:57 PM

I'm by no means an advocate of guns, but damn, they're sure fun to shoot.
Which, I guess, is why they're so popular.

Norma J 12.05.2006 06:58 PM

America do need to turf the guns.

jon boy 12.05.2006 07:15 PM
