Nightmare Before Christmas

It's this festival in England next December curated by Thurston...bands so far include SY, the Stooges and recently...the Melvins :Danyway does anybody know any other bands rumoured to be going? If Dinosaur Jr. were added it'd be unimaginable...out of this world.

IGGY & THE STOOGES
SONIC YOUTH »
BARDO POND »
SIX ORGANS OF ADMITTANCE »
JACKIE-O MOTHERFUCKER »
CHARALAMBIDES »
MY CAT IS AN ALIEN »
THE SKATERS
THE MELVINS »

That is the current line up. Personally I'm keen to see Bardo Pond, JOMF and Six Organs. But all the bands so far I'm pretty keen to see. Afraid I don't know any gossip on other bands that might be playing.

Yeh I havnt heard anything by any other bands except for Melvins, Youth n Iggy, but i trust Thurstons taste in music. He's gonna control a TV channel aswell..hope he puts some fucked up stuff on.

That fucking movie was cool before all the mall core emo assholes got all on it.

nomadicfollower 05.13.2006 03:28 PM

Fuck, that's an awesome line up. Really wish I could go, but I sadly do not live in England.

PAULYBEE2656 05.13.2006 04:19 PM

Iain 05.13.2006 06:22 PM

naomi 05.14.2006 01:43 AM

Iain 05.14.2006 04:16 AM

whorefrost 05.14.2006 06:09 AM

naomi 05.14.2006 10:54 AM

whorefrost 05.15.2006 06:28 AM

I used to be able to say that before i realized that tim burton is a fucking retard. "He's so dark and coo." said the loud fat poser girl that craves attention.

What really ticked me off was the hot-topic core absorbtion of jhonen vasquez. I used to really dig his stuff but now i have a hard time trusting it.

I think Radiohead would fit in well.. i think they're based somewhere around south of England n they're supposed to be releasing their new album sometime this year.

That line-up is immense, and I just checked out ticket prices and stuff but there's a small disclaimer at the bottom saying "This is an over 18 event only, no refunds will be given to the under aged" or something to that effect (I'm 15). So a question to anyone who's been there before, do you know if they would be quite strict on the age thing or would they check ID? (To the best of your knowledge). I think I might have to go to this festival, it seems to good to be true (SY, Stooges, Six Organs, Melvins...)
Cheers
Tom

Paperhouse 05.16.2006 02:34 PM

if you're the one buying the tickets you may have some bother, but i've never seen an id checked in my three atps, so if you look like you even remotely 18 you should be okay.

racehorse 05.16.2006 03:18 PM

OK, cheers, that's quite reassuring, I think I might risk it.
Also, any idea on how quickly these things are known to sell out? Can you buy tickets two months or even a month in advance usually? It's just I am scheduled to be broke until October/November time.
Cheers again,
Tom

Its probably worth getting fake ID, just cus it'd be so bad to be refused entry when you get there...

Yo Pauly, there'll be a few of us crossing the pond from here in the pale come December time. I might even buy you a pint for your bday. Stranger things have happened.
