still listening to EARL over and over.

finally listened to BASTARD. It's really good. I like EARL more (for now). The title track is amazing though. And "Seven" is awesome.

Who's seen the video for "Earl" by the way??? Sick.

I love those dudes. I listened to all of their albums and Tyler's BASTARD is my favorite by far. That dude has mad talent to write sick beats.

Also, "DROP" by Earl Sweatshirt on the Radical mixtape might be my favorite track by the Wolf Gang. Mad rappin on that one.

y'know what's weird? RADICAL is all other people's beats, but I dont think I recognized any of the instrumentals.

Not even the Liars' one ? That one's use was brilliant. (it was the only beat I recognized though !)

I don't own a single Liars album. Or I should say, I've never heard an entire Liars album.

is badass! The standard of the random downloadable tracks tends to be as stupidly high as the that of the album. Insane.

Even though I pretty much love everything these guys are dropping, I'd probably agree with you that Earl is somehow the best of the bunch. It's got the coolest tone to it, if that makes any sense, and moreover I think a lot of its power comes from how perfect it is. It's 26 minutes of just total perfection, and then out. Whereas, say, 'Bastard' hits the same kind of heights, but even though it's all pretty mindblowing, it doesn't quite have the same knockout consistency, and could maybe do with being 10 minutes shorter. Same with some of the other releases. Oh, and 'Earl' has the title track on it, which just automatically puts it in a class of it's own haha. Right now, I'd rank them something like:

1. Earl
2. Bastard
3. Rolling Papers (the fucking production!)
4. Yellow/White
5. Radical
6. Voyager
7. Ali
8. Odd Future Tape

and I haven't listened to the Dena Tape enough to judge. That said, I haven't really fully soaked myself in anything except the top 3 yet...

Great album to say so. Also the beats are epic their minimal feel

so they finally have a wiki page. I'm wondering if they put it up themselves, since it has specific release dates for some albums. Apparantly BASTARD came out December 2009. But everything else besides the first Odd Future mixtape are 2010. That's crazy.

been listening to RADICAL a bit more. Half is amazing. Half is meh. Obviously, the full crew isn't all amazing. I'm quite sure that Earl Sweatshirt is by far the best.

oh yeah, I forgot to say I've been listening to Radical a bit more lately. The "swag me the F out" song is killer, and sort of an apt intro posse cut in a strange way. It's really really long and features so many personalities (the 2nd verse almost falls apart, who is that?) but it all gels in a weird way and works. And it shows just how effortlessly amazing Earl is when he finally gets on it. And then the end is hilarious.

also there's a track that I'm pretty sure is built on an R. Kelly beat. That track is amazing.

agreed. As far as MC'ing go, I don't think anyone else can touch him. But Tyler's beats are perfect for him.

Hell yeah. The whole Rolling Papers album is absolute fire on the beats front. I'd agree that Earl is the standout MC wise. The others are all pretty good, especially Tyler, and can produce some killer verses or quotable lines, but Earl is just on a whole other level when it comes to consistently killing everyone else who gets on a track with him. I can't wait for him to get back from wherever the hell he is right now.

Where is Dr. Eugene? I feel like this shit is right up his alley. I've only got into Earl and Bastard, but I'm downloading the rest of them now. Earl is the best hip-hop record I've heard in years. Hands down.
