Which band has the most irritating fans.

Grateful Dead are an obvious example, as are The Doors, but there has to be more...MORE!

sonicl 09.13.2007 08:29 AM

Babyshambles. Their fans seem to think that junkie idiot is a poet and a hero, and that's profoundly irritating.

Washing Machine 09.13.2007 08:30 AM

Most fans of Post-Hardcore outfits really bug me, their sheer musical closemindedness and wilful ignorance.

Oh and Oasis fans

sarramkrop 09.13.2007 08:31 AM

Manic Street Preachers fans kind of spring to mind. A big faction of The Smiths's fans I find irritating too.

such as?

MellySingsDoom 09.13.2007 08:42 AM

Paul Weller fans - the legion of psuedo-mockney geezers and geezerettes who think their hero makes proper tunes, and he's a proper stand-up bloke.

sarramkrop 09.13.2007 08:43 AM

Does anyone remember the humorous page that they used to have on the Melody Maker where there was a section dedicated to an imaginary girl who was a hardcore Manic Stree Preachers fan writing on her daily diary? That was the funniest thing.

demonrail666 09.13.2007 08:43 AM

melly is, of course, quite right with that one.

demonrail666 09.13.2007 08:46 AM

i've always imagined Dr John fans to be entirely dull.

pantophobia 09.13.2007 09:08 AM

the one that first popped to minds is Steve Albini fans, which is weird but it's due to a fact the more extreme fans of his are some of the biggest pricks i have ever seen and can quote his ethos to the letter, that and the inflated superiority complex involved

sonicl 09.13.2007 09:16 AM

Any fans who think that their idol is speaking directly to them about their life. The two mentioned by Porky are good examples.

...Belle and Sebastian fans?

sarramkrop 09.13.2007 10:17 AM

Where?

contrelefuckingsexisme 09.13.2007 10:20 AM

yeah.
b&s's fans
evanescence fans
green day's fans

mars volta's fans.

sarramkrop 09.13.2007 10:29 AM

I was never aware of Mars Volta having such a big and vociferous amount of fans as to turn them into an irritating bunch, and I'm not even being sarcastic.

The majority of young grunge- era bands/Nirvana fans suck too.

Everyneurotic 09.13.2007 10:30 AM

tool fans
magik markers fans

_slavo_ 09.13.2007 10:43 AM

Noone mentioned the middle/upper class people lacking any music taste and just desiring to relate themselves to anything band-like, so they chose to be U2 fans, yet?
