Sonic Youth on Letterman

Glad to hear that they are going to be on Letterman's show. Maybe then we'll be able to hear "What a Waste" in its entirety. They should play on top of the Ed Sulliven Theatre marquee. I think it'd look pretty cool.

Society_In_My_Hole 05.19.2006 02:19 PM

When are they gonna be on? Tonight? Cauze I've gotta tape it.

LifeDistortion 05.19.2006 02:22 PM

Its on thier hompage. Its June 12, so we still got a ways to go. Its not tonight.

Dan 05.19.2006 02:55 PM

Chances are they will play somewhere outside. Their Letterman performances are alway sweet.

krastian 05.19.2006 03:15 PM

Pablitzen 05.19.2006 06:55 PM

Ouch. Shouldn't be much harder than a...normal...SAT...:(. Good luck on that.

I kind of liked how the Eagles of Death Metal played on the street. I'd like to see that.

spiritbears 05.19.2006 07:46 PM

hey q.....acoustic has no idea....the LSAT is a bitch@@@@@ and pretty darn hard...but mostly very long (5+ hours)...where are you thinking of going to law school?

acousticrock87 05.19.2006 07:51 PM

I was being sarcastic.

yeah, seriously. i'm really, reeallly pining for the old analogies and basic algebra of the sat. it's not the difficulty of the material (which is tough but doable) but the TIME that's going to kill me . . . 35 minutes for each section are not nearly enough. thus far i've taken four previous lsats for practice and gotten a 165, 173, 169, and 173 on them respectively, but in each one i went way overtime in most sections (in one games section i took 2 hours . . . argh).

where i apply will honestly depend on the outcome of this behemoth . . . i have a 3.8 gpa, so i may consider shooting for an ivy leaguer or two (but probably not yale . . . i discovered on the lsac website today that someone with a 4.0 gpa and a 180 lsat has at most about a 65-70% chance of getting into yale, with an appreciable decrease with each tiny decrease in lsat score or gpa). this will be narrowed down once i find out my lsat score but right now my list of possibilities is . . .

harvard
columbia
stanford
georgetown
uva
w&m (my current school)
yale (?? -- i might consider it if i really surprise myself on the lsat)
maybe a couple more (penn? cornell? northwestern? maybe something not quite so lofty?)

yeah, wishful thinking. dream on, ryan, dream on. :D

static-harmony 05.19.2006 11:26 PM

I think there single might be sleeping around.

spiritbears 05.20.2006 12:53 PM

q...
I'm sure you'll do fine...
I was the most worried about the games too...but it turned out to be the easiet section on the test...I didn't score nearly as high as you but still got into a very good school ( with a good scholarship to boot!) I think my letters of recommendation and essays probably had the most impact as my gpa and lsat were good but not great....
believe me, when you are done you will be exhausted!!!!

umjammer atomsk 05.21.2006 05:16 PM

Exactly how many times have sonic youth been on Letterman? It's always a killer performance and I can't wait to hear some rather ripped live.

thethuthinnang 05.24.2006 11:25 AM

Anyone have any of the previous Letterman performances?

Also, for some reason, I think Incinerate is (going to be) the single?

kingcoffee 05.27.2006 03:49 PM

Ivy league schools are way too hard to get into. Fuckin snot nose richies! I had a strong 1.90 gpa and they didnt even accept me! What do I have to do, bang the entire Board of Admissions? Cuz I don't know if I can do that much boning in one day. My back will be too sore.
