free online recording program

i was wondering if anybody on here would recommend their favorite recording program that can be obtained via free download. i have had some fun with audacity on my own laptop because of the nature of a really old internal microphone and a 'noise reduction' plug-in. however, i have been hanging out at my mother's house and using her laptop. it's a lot nicer and i was wondering if there was a decent program that utilized an internal mic., but didn't take up a lot of space.

my own computer is crap, so i almost have to keep audacity as the only program on it. but if there is something new out there that you folks know of, please inform me. inform me!

awesome. thanks.
i had assumed that i would just go with audacity again, but wanted to make sure. or at least get some more input.

Well, I think most softwares could accept the internal mic as a "source" for recording.. you could try www.reaper.fm , better than audacity on many levels, a bit less user friendly in a sense..

a bit less user friendly? i'm really probably just going to play an accoustic and sing. regardless, everything is going to come into the eternal mic. at once. does reaper take up more room than audacity? it's not my comp. remember.

well, a bit less user friendly looking, better?

The program folder is about 28MB, the install file is 4,somethingMB.
Dunno about Audacity, I hardly use it anymore.

that seems to be in the realm of "user-too-friendly." does it work well with Windows 7? i'm checking it out right now...
