Flippin' hell. I want that badly, and I don't even have a record player!

it's a hoax by two guys who ran a fanzine in the 90s... nnck, jsbx, thurston, harry pussy, etc arent't involved.

demonrail666 08.03.2008 01:25 PM

Sounds like a rejuvination of the idea behind that Swanic Youth 7" in the 80s.

can you provide more info - like a source, the zine?

pokkeherrie 08.03.2008 06:43 PM

I remember reading about it on ihatemusic, but i can't find the thread anymore. It's probably been deleted when they moved forums a while ago...

but i did find this:

That No Neck Blues Explosion 7" was indeed a hoax - it was done by the two principal minds behind the fanzine Tuba Frenzy, who were also in the band Joby's Opinion...some '90s Chapel Hill, NC ephemera. One of them told me he sent a copy to - I think - David Nuss at the time, and he wasn't too amused.

Wow! Tuba Frenzy was a fine zine. Thanks for the info. It kind of like the Swanic Youth single Mykel Board did...

[EDIT] I did find tis, the former drummer's myspace page http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...dID=227 69645

no neck blues band is consistent as fuck. those dudes were doing the fucked up psych freak folk thing years before the 'new wierd america' thing happened, and doin it better than any of those bands. well maybe not 6 organs. id love to hear this though.

It's not them...I remember when this came out, and I asked 'em about it. They were kinda annoyed by the whole thing. I DO have a copy though (just came across it in the basement). It's a decent listen, but defitely not them.
Now, if you can get your hands on any of the K. Salvatore stuff, I recommend it.
