My guess is that it will be a limited edition artists book by one of the most respected indie-underground cultural icons of our time.

I suspect it will be an artist's book by visual artist and legendary indie rocker Kim Gordon, and will be an intoxicating look into Gordon's dreamy visual world. Watercolours, paintings, photographs and written word will combine to create a portrait of an artists's work inspired by popular culture. The first 3,000 copies will probably include something like a beautifuuly printed, limited edition signed print by Kim Gordon.

I should imagine that the luxurious yet affordable package will combine layers of media to create an extension of the artist's portfolio, and that there will be written contributions by Jutta Koether and writer Hilton Als.

Kim Gordon: Peforming/Guzzling will probably be the first in a series of books consisting of beautifully designed books by artists, photographers, and designers who have substantially contributed to the texture of artistic culture. I should think that each project will be an extension of the artist's portfolio.

Or something like that.

stu666 03.07.2010 04:05 AM

i want to get it but can't afford it at the mo.

I'm sure Kim would prefer the book to be priced at an affordable level, but the publishers no doubt think more avaristically.

Keeping It Simple 03.08.2010 04:36 PM

I'll wait until the book appears in my local branch of Poundland.

SONIC GAIL 03.08.2010 04:38 PM

I shall ask for that for my birthday.

your post was most instructive. borders books and the local e. village bookshop said it should be published in march. wish me luck at amazon!

thanks.

but there are many humanities! joking. i hear you. a subterfuge of the new libro from amazon would have to suck it.

I just received my notification of shipment. Is this the Noise Paintings?

toxic johnny 03.24.2010 02:11 AM

My copy is on it's way... yay !!!

toxic johnny 03.25.2010 02:27 AM

It was waiting for me when I got home... and is indeed a thing of great beauty. It contains Kim's audience head glitterpaint watercolours interspersed with some of her text paintings and Inherit era Free Kitten lyrics. There is also a smaller section at the back on different paper with various paintings, photographs and collages which I imagine to be the 'Guzzling' section. The whole thing is beautifully produced and comes with a signed watercolour print... go get it art lovers.
