Silver Stairs Of Ketchikan, solo project by Charlie Romijn of Thought Forms:
http://silverstairsofketchikan.bandcamp.com/

You'll realize the "Active Crossover 18/10/09" track, by Silver Stairs Of Ketchikan/Joined By Wire, is not available at the moment. In case you'd like to check it out, it can be downloaded for free in .mp3 format (256 kbps) at:
http://stasisfield.com/releases/year08/sf-8002.html

Awesome stuff.

Thought Forms are on bandcamp as well (I may have already posted a link to it before). Nothing new, except that the "Sky Pegs" EP is no longer up there (I wonder why). Pretty worthy of exploring, though:

I'm so kicking myself for missing that Sky Pegs Ep...

It was an extremely limited run. I listened to it when one of my friends who saw them in their US tour opening for Portishead lent me his copy. I didn't rip it, though (I wouldn't do that). I thought I'd just buy a copy on the internet, but I never found one anywhere. A while ago, it was available for streaming and download on a "pay what you want" basis on Bandcamp but then it got removed. Maybe it will be up again soon? I must have been low on paypal funds at the time so I didn't snag a .flac copy.

rappard 02.26.2012 03:29 PM

Hey Thought Forms fans:
So I read your above posts, some synapses fired, and I scoured my hard drives. Turns out I have the POT 35 "This Way Up" compilation which has the track "Memento Memorii" by said band. Is that exclusive to this release? If so I'll throw it up on WeTransfer.

hipster_bebop_junkie 03.07.2012 01:43 PM

Yeah, I think that track is exclusive to that release. I already have a digital copy of the compilation, I'm sure.

Unrelated, but awesome: Mono is now on bandcamp:

Lots of great records with participation by Ingebrigt Håker Flaten. Some treats you'll find if you follow the link: "Shinjuku Growl", by The Thing & Jim O'Rourke; "Duets" by Ingebrigt Håker Flaten & Remi Álvarez; "Shinjuku Crawl", by The Thing & Otomo Yoshihide; "Feet Music", by Atomic; "STEEL", by Ingebrigt Håker Flaten (edited by our very own fellow board member, andrei), and more...

It's female singer/songwriter. Wish I had taped her, she played a very strong set. Better than the album.

LLB is supporting DDD, in London and Utrecht. Sadly I don't think I can make it to their Urecht gig :-(

hipster_bebop_junkie 03.12.2012 06:30 PM

I adore Love Like Birds... I know you'll be able to catch a show by her sooner or later, _tunic_. I would love some live recordings...

_tunic_ 03.13.2012 12:52 PM

April 6 looks doable. Can you point me to a representative sample of her stuff (bandcamp, grooveshark, what-have-you)? Ta!

_tunic_ 03.13.2012 06:28 PM

just registered and link is still not working. Will try again lateron.
Yeah I know, I was supposed to go but I wasn't in the mood for a festival so didn't end up going, but went a few days later to Cologne and somewhere in Belgium. According to Nathan it was a good show in Tilburg, well attended, and in a church, so it should sound well

don't think this is your cup of tea, folky acoustic stuff, but it would be highly appreciated :D
I'm still considering to go at the last minute if time permits me

You're quite right - I did some YouTubing today, but can't say I like it much. I had high hopes since both you and HBJ like it. Oh well....
