hahaha I fucking wish, I'm in the deep wilds of melbourne. you're a very lucky man, T&B. can vouch for the necks, earthless, hieroglyphic being and allen/von oswald shows being mind-blowing.

And needless to say that Mono is awesome live, otherwise I wouldn't be seeing them so many times right?
If you have any recommendations for hotels, let me know. If I wouldn't be going to another concert the previous day I would stay the weekend, or at least the Sunday and do some sight seeing. Maybe some other time...

one of my friends always stays at this hotel:
http://www.fritz-im-pyjama.de
from there it is really easy to get to the venue, also, i live nearby and can just pick you up
another i can think of from the top of my head is this hostel: http://schanzenstern.com/index.php/en/st-pauli

Not sure if this is the place for this, but I'm already regretting not catching the King last week. A new album is due in 2015, so there may be another chance......who knew he was living here in Texas???

tomorrow=thursday: Esben & The Witch
friday & sunday: thurston moore
next week possibly one or more of these: Dans Dans, Loop, Steve Gunn, Lubomyr Melnyk

Savage Clone 11.12.2014 09:47 AM

Bytor, I love king diamond! More of a Mercyful Fate guy really, but I would still see King if I had the chance. My bandmate did sound for him in the 80s or early 90s and said he was great to work with and that the show was awesome.
Next thing I am excited for is going to NYC to play percussion in my friend's neofolk project, opening for Death In June. Serious fanboy fulfillment there.

Bytor Peltor 11.13.2014 06:03 PM

Savage, I find myself more of a Mercyful Fate guy......King's solo stuff has always sounded too polished. Can't remember how, but I stumbled upon a King Diamond podcast last month. There was no music, just conversation about King getting back into the swing of things by playing some German Metal Festivals this summer and how he has been recovering from a heart attack. There was talk about a new album being released in 2015 and probable tour of the states, so I was very surprised when I saw the Houston show listed last week......there was even discussion of a possible Mercyful Fate reunion.

Congrats on the Death In June gig. I didn't realize they (duo?) were still touring. I read where the Spring early summer shows had protesters at some of the stops.
