i actually kind of like rather ripped

i listened to rr a few nights ago for the first time since it came out. i actually sort of liked it. its still not my favorite by any means but i dont hate it as much. the way they use major chords and the classic rock moves didnt seem to irk me so much.

anyone notice on i think it was the neutral kim's bass goes on too long into the next section then she changes to the next part a few beats too late. not that i care so much ive just never noticed them leaving a blatant mistake on a record.

i was also thinking that in some ways rather ripped is kind of like GOO. both are sort of stripped down rock cds. to me it sounded like Goo filtered through their last 15 years of work. goo was their first cd for geffen while rr is their last. guess that was on my mind too.

I've been listening to RR alot the last few nights while writing. The only
songs I skip really are T-bone tracks: "Sleepin' Around" and "Lights Out."

deflinus 06.07.2008 12:49 PM

I liked a lot Reena, I know it's a commercial sound but it's still a great song!

yeah, those songs are terrible. but reena and pink stema are great. and i love the jams run free. i think ill listen to RR tomorrow.
i remember when i saw SY in boston two years ago and they started the intro to pink steam and i got real excited, so i started clapping, and no one else did, but eventually people joined me. it was way cool
(then i met the band after the show)
