thanks i couldn't think of it. where were you all weekend? i don't think i've met you have i?

Toilet & Bowels 12.09.2010 10:13 AM

I was there all weekend, I had a chalet with Nefeli. No, we haven't met IRL before. The only other SYGers I saw there were Pokkeherie, Glice, & Jimbrim, but then I'm not sure I'd recognize anyone else from here who was there, aside from Slavo.

It's hard to call what he did improvising though bearing in mind it's his stock in trade and he's been doing it for 20 years.

Boban & Marko Markovic

he also told me that haino is playing roadburn, which is very good news for me since he hasn't been announced for that yet, although i was kind of hoping/expecting it since sunno ))) are curating a day there.

such a great weekend, most of the acts that played i enjoyed.

highlights:

Keiji Haino (unbelievable, possible one of my favourite live experiences i have witnessed. i'll have to make sure i'm there when he comes to London)
John Butcher
Borbetomagus
Emeralds (i'm a big fan of the band, and i knew i would enjoy it based on the performance they put on in London recently. it was nice to hear them play Passing Away off of their s/t in a live context... shame about the speaker though)
Philip Jeck

jimbrim 12.09.2010 12:36 PM

this is quite a good clip from Haino's set http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrNZ3zoexkY

from your experience, are they too strict on this matter?

I assume the tickets are on sale at wegottickets (I haven't actually looked). If that's the case, then transferring them to someone else is very simple. You can't do it on the day of the concert, but any time prior to that you can.

they used to do it, they stopped though.
i'm guessing if he's playing with brotzmann and bower that he won't be playing for more than about 1 hour

EvdWee 12.10.2010 08:25 AM

has anyone been eating any tangerines during the weekend?

stu666 12.10.2010 08:41 AM

yes.

nicfit 12.10.2010 08:52 AM

I'm really glad you guys had fun.
Unless there's some tangerines poisoning going on.
SO, snow and ice did not create problems, after all?

stu666 12.10.2010 09:01 AM

there was no snow in somerset and the roads were mainly clear one the way down. it was a barmy 7 degress warmer than where i came from so i didn't feel too cold. on the way back it was a bit foggy but nothing major.

what's with the tangerine question EvdWee? you've got me paranoid now!

EvdWee 12.10.2010 10:02 AM

we did have some having snowing betwen dover and london, but after that no problems at all!
friday was very cold. even in Pavilion your coat was necessary.

we brougth 8 kilos of tangerines to ATP in order to get atleast some vitamins. We ended up giving away some of them. you might have been lucky!

Savage Clone 12.10.2010 10:15 AM

Last time I saw NNCK, they threw oranges into the audience. An audience member sent one flying back at the band. It flew in a lovely arc, and hit one of the NNCK guys right on the top of his head.
