Classic Albums #17: The Stooge's Fun House

is this the right thread number?

About as good as it gets for me. Rock and fuuucking roll.
If you are a fan of rock music and you haven't heard this record, do yourself a favor maan..
One of the few perfect things handed down from god to man. It has no flaws in my eyes

Best Stooges album hands down. I mean Loose, T.V. Eye, 1970, Fun House, c'mon! Their first album has some pretty good songs on it like I Wanna Be Your Dog, but this album totally captures the raw energy and greatness that is The Stooges.

Onani Nic 07.06.2007 09:18 PM

Probably my favourite album of all time.

CHOUT 07.06.2007 09:33 PM

I dig Fun House, but Raw Power is the ultimate Stooges album to me.

demonrail666 07.06.2007 10:07 PM

Since they remastered it, I prefer Raw Power now too. Not to take anything away from Fun House though.

Everyneurotic 07.06.2007 10:28 PM

for me, raw power and funhouse are tied as the best iggy ever, for different reasons of course.

Bollocks_to_Pop 07.07.2007 12:46 AM

Raw Power to me sounds too polished.

fugazifan 07.07.2007 02:16 AM

second best album of all time. brilliant beyond words. not a single flaw.
last three songs are one of the true masterpeices of rock and roll.

plus i'm seeing them live in like 11 hours!!!!!!!

Fun house is alright. Nothing compared to the weirdness though. And by that I mean I haven't heard the weirdness. And by that I mean Funhouse is great

the ikara cult 07.07.2007 06:50 AM

This is the first "Classic album" that i actually own. Its a good laugh.

LittlePuppetBoy 07.07.2007 07:51 AM

Greatest rock album of all time!

gmku 07.07.2007 10:18 AM

Excellent album. The reissue on Sundazed LP is super-fine, too.

MellySingsDoom 07.07.2007 11:21 AM

Aye, this album tis genius. Personally, I still go for the first one, as it's the first I heard, and I'd listened to it a lot before Funhouse fell into my lap.

Polished? Oh my, that's one of the most blown out records of all time, recording wise. It wasn't recorded the right way, or i should say Iggy wanted more and more distortion on the whole thing. it was completely in the red, unpolished.

on a side note, I read Iggy biography, Open up and Bleed..recommend it highly..

I think Bollocks must be taking the piss.

Cardinal Rob 07.07.2007 12:16 PM

Personally, my favourite Stooges album by far is The Weirdness.

gmku 07.07.2007 12:20 PM

Now you're taking the piss.

jico. 07.07.2007 12:26 PM

What I mean by that is the playing and singing seems to perfect or too planned out compared to the playing on Fun House.

ricechex 07.07.2007 02:34 PM

Don't mind me, i'm just full of Iggy facts right now after reading the biography. haha.. I think Fun House was their best overall. That was their prime too. Raw Power changed up the lineup and had Straight James Williamson on guitar. It's great, if for only two songs, cuz i really don't even listen to the rest of it..but Search and Destroy and Gimme Danger are just outrageous, the cream of the crop..
