How Do You Know When It's Over?

Is it the lack of emotions?
The common ground not being there anymore?
Feeling distant?
Does anyone know?

Cantankerous 03.19.2008 02:09 AM

when they stab you three times in the chest i'm pretty sure it's safe to say you're through.

acousticrock87 03.19.2008 02:18 AM

When one of you says it's over and doesn't come back.

Until then, it's all a guess. But you usually have a gut-feeling that's pretty close to right. It's different for everyone. Good luck with it, though.

the older I get, the more I get the feeling that sex is not that important part of a relationship...am I wrong?

"The idea of having sex with you makes me vomit in my mouth a little."

max 03.19.2008 05:11 AM

^ agreed with the above.

sex is mos def overrated, but also a good feeling that can't be easily replaced. a mix of knowledge of the significant other together with the right amount of passion can generate wonders.

and children too (if it's male vs. female), so stick to the condoms.

Cantankerous 03.19.2008 05:15 AM

SEX IS NOT OVERRATED
yall is some crazy fuckers

and birth control ftw. condoms are for dick s(pun intended)

pbradley 03.19.2008 06:48 AM

If future, older Cantank could talk to present, younger Cantank, what would she say... hmm...

I know my future self would tell me to go to sleep already.

uhler 03.19.2008 07:50 AM

you kind of get a gut feeling about it. at least that's what i get. i can tell because the other starts to get more distant and not so interested in hanging out or doing stuff with you. then again, sometimes i just get it out of nowhere.

floatingslowly 03.19.2008 08:10 AM

I'm sorry, all I can think of is Zzyxx Rd and sparkle pony unicorns.

I don't think that this helps. :(

pantophobia 03.19.2008 09:11 AM

when you can't find your way home

when everything is blind and deaf

when you're staggering around waiting for someone to make the call

that's when you know the end is near

i would disagree for the simple fact that this doesn't hold true for good, meaningful sex. there's ALWAYS a place for that. casual sex on the other hand, is getting stale and a bit taxing as i get older (which is why i've stopped drinking so much and started avoiding situations that would compromise the integrity of my balls).

val-holla-ing 03.19.2008 10:46 AM

i'd be hesitant to use the word "over." things tend to be way less finite than we'd like to imagine them. but generally, it's time to wash your hands of it when it gets to a point when time and emotion are being wasted or it's completely one-sided or just not progressing.
