It measures the relationship between river velocity and erosion/transportation/deposition of particles. I discovered the Hjulstrom Curve at college, whilst studying the whole geography/geology thing. Anyway, I did an extensive study of a short stretch of the River Clywedog, near Wrexham. As part of the preparation I studied rivers extensively, including the fascinating phenomenon of oxbow lakes! Small world, eh? I've never heard the band, though, but perhaps they did a bit of geography too. I'm listening to 'Jobless Youngsters' by Bogshed, by the way. |
