Whatever happened to the Lee Solo Album?

Well, SYR 7 and 8 and a new Free Kitten record have turned up; do you suppose we're ever gonna hear about that alleged Lee solo record ever again?

Its by far my most craved Youth-related project.

Maybe Lee himself will drop by to answer...

dazedcola 04.19.2008 04:10 PM

yea i want to know too ! Maybe Thurston will guest on it. Lee has a more traditional music bkgrd taste so i want to see if that will resurface on it.

Perphaps Lee might even tour a solo record (Heart beats like a jackhammer)

avantgarde1 04.19.2008 04:18 PM

i'll second that.

vulva 04.19.2008 05:32 PM

wasn't one of the dudes on here mastering the album? I doubt we've heard the rest of this

Pessimist 04.19.2008 09:40 PM

Are we talking like, Amarillo Ramp-type stuff?

deflinus 04.19.2008 09:54 PM

i wouldnt mind Amarillo Ramp-type stuff. i love that album

avantgarde1 04.19.2008 10:08 PM

amarillo ramp is the be all end all!

SonicBebs 04.20.2008 05:00 AM

what the hell is Amarillo Ramp?
I love the Out Trios Monsoon thing. Well, not love but it's ok. The drumming doesn't seem to be fluid enough for me but its still pretty good

Maybe he's actually, y'know, taking his time with it.

taking your time leads to Hotel California, FUCK THAT. Lets have it out by next month so I can be jamming to it outside in the beautiful sunshine.

atsonicpark 04.20.2008 11:55 AM

Not taking your time leads to "psychic hearts".

You know what Moshe?

You just gave me my 10th rep in 2 days. That's the most rep I've gotten in a while!

Chris Lawrence 04.20.2008 05:40 PM

yeah, but taking your time leads to 'trees outside the academy', which might as well be 'hotel california'.

take that.

avantgarde1 04.20.2008 05:50 PM

i like psychic hearts :(

Pessimist 04.20.2008 06:33 PM

I like both... I even have a Trees shirt....

Chris Lawrence 04.20.2008 06:46 PM

i like 'psychic hearts' too. i'm not sure if it's for nostalgic purposes or what, in those sweet pre-internet days, hearing 'queen bee' and 'ono soul' on the radio accompanied by an interview w/ thurston really got me excited for that record, and it didn't disappoint when i finally heard it. the 'psychic hearts' encore on the 'trees' tour was the highlight of the show for me (and i know many disagree, which is cool.. i like 'trees' but not to the extent that most people seem to worship it).

I felt the same way. I was ok with the rest of the show, but the Psychic Hearts stuff was by far the peak part of the set. It would have been more effective to mix those songs in (plus a couple more!), rock up the Trees stuff more in places, and do a couple covers that weren't on either.
