which album is yr spring album

I belive that every season in the yaer or the weather or a fucking smell in the air is very close coneceted with albums songs and this kind of a things. Now there is my time for washing machine and i was wondering why cause first time i heavent listened to this album in spring and i'm thinking why now. I want to know yr reflections about this. A'm i so stupid ?

Sonic Youth 37 05.03.2008 10:22 PM

Washing Machine is a solid choice. I might say that or Dirty if I had to associate a SY album with spring.

uhler 05.03.2008 10:36 PM

sister or maybe sonic nurse

o'connor 05.04.2008 02:46 AM

murray street and everything after that for spring i would say.

Moshe 05.04.2008 02:55 AM

murray street for me

greedrex 05.04.2008 02:58 AM

murray street is def the one spring album. It's light and green.
summer is RR + washing machine
winter is definitely ATL
autumn is all the others...esp evol, sister and DDN

am i right?

andrei 05.04.2008 03:09 AM

since here it rained almost one month straight, it is Bad Moon Rising...

Death & the Maiden 05.04.2008 03:33 AM

Sonic Youth and Confusion Is Sex are Winter .
Bad Moon Rising is night time Summer.
Murray Street is Spring.

I see everyone is keeping their choices limited to Sonic Youth. But I'm going to be different (because I really only have one album that for me epitomizes a particular season) and say Built to Spill's "Keep it Like a Secret." I have vivid memories of listening to that album while soaking up some sun with friends on the lawn behind my dorm at Penn State, on an unseasonably warm day in March. Well, that, and "Boom Boom Boom" by the Kelley Deal 6000 (I even have a burn mark on that case, from where I extinguished a cigarette and thought "I'll always remember this day when I see this burn mark"). That was like 9 years ago, but whenever I hear "Keep it Like a Secret," it feels like yesterday.

murray street and dirty

Murray Street is very Spring.

I find Daydream Nation to be very autumny, EVOL very wintery etc.

Sonic Youth 37 05.04.2008 06:15 PM

Bad Moon and Daydream are very autumn to me. Murray Street seems like autumn to me too. EVOL and CIS are winter. The rest just kind of fall where they may.

Derek 05.04.2008 06:21 PM

EVOL is a great album to listen to in Winter, the contained intensity of the album really has a great atmosphere for Winter nights.

Gastr Del Sol is particularly fine in the spring, for me.

atsonicpark 05.04.2008 08:23 PM

john fahey - god, time, and casualty.

Green Magnesium 05.04.2008 08:26 PM

Washing Machine = Summer
A Thousand Leaves = Autumn
NYC Ghosts and Flowers = Winter

That's really the only SY "trilogy" I equate with the seasons. Spring happens to not be one of them.

tasteinmen 05.04.2008 08:48 PM

Spring = EJST&NS, Sister, Bad Moon Rising (Only In Some Circumstances because that's when I started listening to it so the feel of spring reminds me of it)
Summer = EVOL, Daydream Nation
Autumn - Bad Moon Rising
Winter - Goo
