best places to buy cheap used cd's online?

there used to be this site called justthedisc.com where you could buy used cd's (just the disc, duh) for like $3 each. But it seems to be done. I'm just curious if anyone knows any other sites that sell really cheap used cd's like that. Even if it is just discs. Obviously can use eBay, Amazon, etc. But then you're paying seperate shipping on each. So just interested in places where you can blow $20 and get a stack of cheapo cd's in one mailed package. Anyone?

You can find all kind of sellers that offer those kinds of deals on Discogs.com, some sellers offer just the artwork and the disc. Last purchase I bought a whole stack of "used cds" for under $20 all, mint, some the very hard to find.

This one seems pretty good and cheap, even though it's based in the UK. I don't buy many cds anymore, so I'm not sure. Agreed on Discogs. Some good sellers on there.

A lot of CDs are amazingly cheap these days. I bought copies of the Melvins Egg Nog and Bullhead for only a few dollars from a big online store. The LP copies go for close to $100 these days. What's up with that? The CD copies sound great, and they're what most kids would have bought of the Melvins back in the day.

I have thousands of titles priced at $2 each with full artwork in jewel cases. Some of them are brand new / factory sealed or unsealed, never played and many used but in excellent condition. I ship from NC, USA.

Barnes and Noble and Amazon are really all you need. Smaller stores sell through them, so if you search for a used CD you come up with several results each time, and you can usually find a copy (with case, booklet, etc.) for dirt cheap. Sometimes they're like $1.50.

You might not have these in your area, but there is a chain of stores called Movie Exchange that sell nothing but used music, movies, and games. They usually know the value of what they're selling, so the opportunities for steals are slim, but you'll find some good stuff. Also, there's Hastings (although most of those seem to have gone to the wayside)

Discogs, as already mentioned, will always be the best.

bump.

So I've never bought anything off Discogs. The main thing is because it's all diff sellers, I'd have to be paying shipping on each item yeah (instead of shipping on a single bundle)?

I placed a couple recent orders to Amoeba and The CD Exchange. Both had some great prices, and offered free shipping on orders over $30-ish.

Was gonna order a giant stack of CD's from Spun as they had a ton of good stuff, complete, for under $3. Then I got to the checkout and they wanted $24 for shipping on a $50 order. Nuts!

GoHastings always seems to have good prices on CD's - I've browsed their Ebay store - BUT, it always looks like a crap-shoot to me whether or not you'll get liner notes/artwork. So I dn't bother.

(I'm getting back into collecting physical hip hop CD's, so artwork is a must)

Crazy. I was tempted yesterday to start a thread on this very topic.

For fuck's sake, I'm having trouble. It's the shipping that usually ruins it. Or else lousy selection. Is it just me, or does 20-25 bucks for 7 or 8 used Sonic Youth CDs (for example) sound about right? It could be I'm delusional.

evollove 06.06.2016 05:55 PM

Bump.

Any help?

I can't crack the shipping matrix.

Discogs! ha. what a joke. you can buy cheap cd's off Amazon.
Discogs is great for looking at album sleeves and checking yr Ebay record dates. the ordering system seems shady. don't trust it. too phony cause they know what the record collectors want.

Amazon doesn't give a shit. they have more products to sell like the Wal-Mart option to the public.

What about the best place to purchase vinyl here in America?

Toilet & Bowels 06.17.2016 02:50 AM

Vinyl is for rich people & climate change deniers

Unfortunately, it's a gamble. Your CD is 100% guaranteed to play, but that doesn't mean it will; it only means they'll refund your money if it skips like a bitch. You've been warned.
