Do You Have A Car

what car do you have

Prisstina 12.19.2006 05:07 PM

Nope. Not legally able to drive yet (still 15). My parents want me to go through driver's ed and get my license, but they won't buy me a car. Don't have a job yet either, and probably won't care enough to buy my own car when I do. The bus is working for me just fine.

But my parents drive a Mazda Protege and a Mazda 5. So I guess that counts.

Savage Clone 12.19.2006 05:16 PM

I got rid of my car when I got my latest bicycle.

Trasher02 12.19.2006 05:20 PM

I have a car. My dad bought me one for practicing here in the woods.
It only costed 700$ and it's a decent car.

jon boy 12.19.2006 05:40 PM

no i dont becaise berlin has such a good transport system that i dont need one.

i was amazed in america just how many people have cars and drove everywhere. i met people in their 30's who had never used public transport for christ sakes.

its all very well and good having a car until you break down in the middle of knowehere and have to rely on the kindness of others to get you out of trouble.

Hip Priest 12.19.2006 05:43 PM

I don't have car because I like public transport.

The thing is this: I don't have a car because I don't drive, I don't drive because I don't know how, I don't know how because I don't want to know how. Yet, once or twice a week I get telephone calls from insurance companies who insist that I've expressed an interest in switching my car insurance. Which is both stupid and irritating.

jon boy 12.19.2006 05:44 PM

haha thats true^^

i had an accident a few years ago that really seriously put me off driving for life.

youthoftomorrow 12.19.2006 07:12 PM

'94 Acura Integra, 127k miles, bought it for $5,300 about a year ago.

Prisstina 12.19.2006 07:22 PM

Public transportation is great. I can get all-day bus passes through my high school for three dollars which give me unlimited rides all week.

compulsive diarrhea, jico 12.19.2006 07:44 PM

i've just started learning the rules of the road,
next year i might get a cheap car...

i'll go for a

citroen ds

or

citroen 2cv

Savage Clone 12.19.2006 07:49 PM

Citroens are great!
So stylish.
I have lusted after both these models.
The top one for its unbelievably cool style and grace, and the bottom for its hilariousness that still maintains some dignity and coolness. Love those external headlights!!

val-holla-ing 12.19.2006 08:15 PM

i recently got a green '94 pontiac bonneville. it's pretty fly.

Norma J 12.19.2006 08:19 PM

I'm not a cars man. I just need one that works and I can lug my gear around in, and I'm fine.

EMMAh 12.19.2006 10:33 PM

I need my G1, so I can get my G2, then my G. Wouldn't life be grand?
Too bad I'm lazy

Better_Than_You 12.19.2006 10:41 PM

I'm fucked when it comes to getting a car. There is no way my parents will let me drive.

I speed too much.
I run through red lights.
I run through stop signs.
I've almost hit my sisters car twice (dont tell her... pleeease)
And I've hit the curb and banged up my dads car countless times.

I think I'll have to rely on the KAT bus.
(Only old people and mentally retarded people ride that bus. Which is cool... I love old people as long as they don't smell like death and hospitals.)

Better to be lazy than end up spending tonnes of money on automobile insurance, licence, lessons, etc. Busses are the way to go!

Norma J 12.19.2006 10:49 PM

But with cars you don't have to deal with dickhead commuters.

Inhuman 12.19.2006 11:30 PM

True, but on a financial and environmental scale I prefer bussing and subway systems.

But yeah, I drive my parent's car that's a Saturn SC 2002

HaydenAsche 12.20.2006 12:05 AM

Yes. I have a car.

1998 Ford Escort WAGON

SonikJesus 12.20.2006 01:07 AM

I have a 2007 Honda Accord coupe. I got it less than a month ago. My mom co-signed with me but I'm paying it. I barely make enough for the payments.

_slavo_ 12.20.2006 03:11 AM

I used to have this old wreck:

but then it just died (it was like 18 years old)

RIP Skoda 120

SynthethicalY 12.20.2006 03:15 AM

I have a 88 honda accord.

nicfit 12.20.2006 03:38 AM

i wanted to start a Cat Power cover band called "car power" with all the lyrics changed accordingly.
i drive a crappy but lovely fiat panda (old style one).

mine is dark red.

king_buzzo 12.20.2006 03:39 AM

nicfit 12.20.2006 03:44 AM

sonicl 12.20.2006 03:49 AM

Eleven year old VW Polo. It's just reached the stage of its life where it starts going wrong quite a lot, so it may have to be replaced next year some time.

UVRAY 12.20.2006 04:11 AM

yep. I love cars. Actually, I have a few.

This is my favorite:

An '89 Spider S3.

yeah, the ds is awesome... good thing is they are cool, cheap, easy to find and probably very fun to ride!

jon boy 12.20.2006 09:04 AM

i would walk past the garage in berlin that sold this almost every day. there was always a bunch of people drooling over it. it is nice though but it does four miles to the gallon!

compulsive diarrhea, jico 12.20.2006 09:08 AM

compulsive diarrhea, jico 12.20.2006 09:17 AM

You can have the same one i gave king_buzzo, just follow that link, no driving license required.
And, regarding the "best car ever" award I'd say it's a tie between the panda and the AMC Pacer

oh jesus christ, king_buzzo... it's 18, not 21!
although i don't think they should let you have one until you're 35 at least.

anyway i don't have a car, so it's all bicycle and public transport for me. i never had any interest in cars either, but there's a few i like: the mini cooper, volkswagen golf and certain citroen models. i'm not big on sports cars, but i think the porsche 911 is a really classy car, especially the older models.

because i'm feeling generous tonight i'm giving all of them to king_buzzo

my mother wants me to take driving lessons.. i'm starting the theory by myself (i'm supposed to do anyway) but i don't really feel like it. i make it everywhere by foot, or bus, or train or bike or whatever.. she taught me some basic things at a parking lot and i'm pretty good at it but it's no fun. i don't care for cars.

afterthefact 12.20.2006 03:10 PM

I have an '01 Passat... nice car, but it's giving me so much trouble. I just had to put in a new radiator and water pump. I'm thinking about trading it in for something new, just so I can get a freakin' factory warranty and not have to worry about that crap.

krastian 12.21.2006 01:17 AM

93 Cavalier....bought it for a thousand bucks and it only had 30K miles on it. Runs great!

^Not actually mine though.
