Seems an eternity I saw them live,
How is Postbahnhof, how many people can fit inside that venue?
it's my first concert in Berlin...:o

we're coming! from munich. last time i saw them was 1998...this is going to be a blast! when i look at the paris setlist, i can hardly conceal my excitement...

I've heard that 1000 people fit into Postbahnhof.

I've just returned after a great show and two bottles of wine..

Show in Berlin was pretty cool.. Berliners really love SY! After they did two encores, stage technicians started to put away mics and effect pedals, etc.. but the audience wanted a 3rd encore and screamed for 15mins.. then the lights went out again and stage hands set everything up again, for another song.. SY finishing the set and 3rd encroe with Kool Thing..

(BTW, The same happened in Berlin in 2002, when I saw SY for the first time.. :) back then, they played an amazing version of Brother James)

Earlier one, Kim asked if anyone in the audience went to ATP, and then dedicated "Neutral" to "all the boys who went to ATP"..

Met a lot of people from the german SY board (www.dirtysy.de), and had a real cool time..

P.S.: J Mascis was pretty cool too! But he started really early.. tickets said 20:00, but he came on stage 19:35.. so a lot of people missed the first 3-4 songs. He was playing solo, and it was nice to see him performing on his own.. I've already seen Dinosaur 4 times (2 times last WE, hehe), so this was a whole new experience.. i really loved the solo version of Alone, which he played using a looper.

I was there too...what a setlist, awesome.

I was there as well, with the guys from the German forum. I think one of them got in touch with the soundtech shortly after the gig and he said there was a minidisc recorder plugged to the soundboard.

A MD rec by an audience member? Or by the TV team? I mean, it's obvious that they would do a board recording when they go thru the trouble of doing a multicam pro shot of the show.

You've got to ask Torsten, if he's aware of any details. As someone was asking before about the video thing, I'm quite confident - as J Mascis was filming w one cam - that it wasn't for any TV station..

BTW, Thurston wearing an Immortal longsleeve at the last encore was hilarious! hehe

yep, obviously wrong, thurston sung it. and yes: a girl at the soundboard told me there was a private soundboard-recording of the show - but i don't know who recorded it. i wanna know if kool thing was recorded too, or if it was fucked up, like our recording of brother james at the 2002-show, hehe :)

Hello Bastian wie war dann die 'Kill Time Party'? Hoffentlich war es soo cool dass die allein erziehende Mutter (und Kind) auf euerer Tur geklopft hat und gefragt hat ob sie mitfeiern könnten.

Ich bin wieder auf der Insel und es tut wirklich weh.

Die Party war nice und relaxed. :) Die allein erziehende Mutter war glücklicherweise außer Hörweite, wir waren ja bei Arianna.

Warum tut es weh? Gefällt es dir in Berlin besser?

Quite busy I must say... I prefer the Paradiso in Amsterdam to see Sonic Youth, but it was a great show!! Schizofrenia was mind-blowing!, and I loved 100%,
the whole new album sounded great live, I must say.
too bad I missed J Mascis, but I hate waiting, so it turned out great that SY started as soon as I was settled. As if they where waiting for me to show up :) with my free ticket from MotorFM :cool:

i'm still recovering from the buzz of my first SY gig.. it has been 18 months now, and i'm slowly going cold turkey....
