Going to Dorset for a bit of country air and to see some nice places.
|
I'm not sure what i'm doing tonight(possibly staying at home as i'd like to finish the 'collaboration thread' track if possible) but tomorrow i'm meeting with a polish friend for a drink. No plans for Sunday either so i'll see.
|
Some shopping tomorrow afternoon, a bit of jazz on Sunday.
|
I too am taking it fairly easy this weekend due to brokeness, but I am at least still getting to take in Gang Gang Dance and Paul Metzger at the Walker Art Center on Saturday night. Looking forward to that.
|
I thought that was saying Walker Art Gallery. That's in Liverpool.

I don't know about me going yet. I'm fairly broke and I'll have to pay for that and the other 2 concerts this weekend. |

i thought this was gonna be about the jean luc godard movie. i will prob watch the dvd again at some point this weekend.
tonight - girl wants me to come to a shitty gig with her - made it overly obvious that her intentions are romantic. i am still in debate as to if i will go or not. sat - ex girlfriend just texted me out of the blue and invited me to come to her house party on sat night - still in debate about this one too. sun - will get some pills and some pollen - fucking right. |
Rock and Roll.

I have some friends from out of town staying with me saturday evening so that should be a very late night of drunken debauchery... on sunday I plan to chill and maybe take in the 'Twilight: Photography In The Magic Hour' exhibition at the V + A... hangover permitting of course.

I miss that place. I used to walk over on my days off (which back then were usually during the week, not weekends) and take in the exhibitions. I miss Minneapolis, actually. |
You lived in Minneapolis, cunt?

Surprise birthday bash tonight for a friend who's coming up on her big 4 0. Involves pints at the local brew pub, so it should be a good time. Beyond that, staying indoors and cozy, mostly. Will probably put Metal Box on the turntable, and I've also had a hankering for Sticky Fingers and Exile lately.
Watching the world series if it goes beyond tonight. Reading. In the middle of Exile: A Season in Hell with the Rolling Stones by Robert Greenfield, and it's total sensationalistic trash. Also reading Transparent Things by Vladimir Nabakov which is not. |

Shouldn't you be in school right now? |

When's It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown on? Anyone know? I don't do a lot for Halloween, but I always like catching that.
My son's college has this tradition where you can pay for them to drop off a bag of halloween candy at their dorm room door on Halloween. We did sign up for that. We'll also hand out candy here at home, but it's not a huge holiday for me. I don't go for costume parties at all. And I can't wait to see if some neighborhood kid smashes our pumpkins. I'm sure one of them will, the little deliquents. |
Damn, I think it's on tonight. And I'll miss it because we're going to some friend's damned 40th birthday party. I need tivo.
|
sounds like a busy weekend to me.
|
I like Charlie brown specials.
I am doing hommewrok and studying for midterms. |
i must say, you do look quite excellent.
|
oh thanks.
i don't know that i'm actually going to dress up or do anything this year because i've been sick and i don't know that i'll actually feel well enough by tuesday. maybe i'll be a freudian slip. |
It's 07:45am, and I'm still awake. Wasted...

This weekend was a fun one because the 19th annual Virginia Film Festival is being held. The theme this year is "Revelations."
In the past few years, we've had stars like Anthony Hopkins, Sigourney Weaver and Nicolas Cage (with his then newlywed wife Lisa Marie Presley (they had only been married a week or so when they hit town)). This year, Morgan Freeman, Robert Duvall, William Moseley & Liev Schriber were here. I missed more than I saw, however. I didn't go to Freeman and 10 items or Less, the world priemere of Jack Black's Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny movie (which I forgot was on Thurs night), Moseley and Narnia (sold out), and Duvall and The Apostle (sold out (seen it already)). I saw The Seventh Seal (on the big screen...one of Scorsese's faves), Jesus Camp (disturbing, but excellent) and Jim Bakker's son, Jay Bakker, (a nondenominational preacher) who was onhand to screen and discuss the first two episodes (of six) of a new reality series for Sundance Channel called One Punk Under God. It was pretty engaging and there's this one part where he's touring the decimated Heritage USA theme park. Roger Ebert is getting/has gotten out of the hospital now, but the festival wasn't all that great without him for me. I've attended shot-by-shot seminars of his on Vertigo, The Birds, Pulp Fiction and Blowup that were a blast. At the one for The Birds, we chatted for awhile about Blue Velvet and I gave him a ribbing for panning it. |
