wow, what a cover! its like, very punk or something :D i mean, the toilet was cool, but this is much much cooler :) it seems like sonic youth have a middle age crisis :D ....delete the other 2 threads :)

digging the monochrome styling.... bit of a letdown tho... not as inspired as most SY record covers...

pretty sure its official, universal owns geffen. and every album cover ive seen them debut has been authentic. unless they change their mind and make a new cover, im pretty sure that's gonna be it

it makes me think its going back to goo/daydream nation sound :) goo is black pencil, daydream nation is red on the back cover.

the correct title for an album with a cover like that would be 'rather cheap and lazy'. but hey, it's what's inside that really counts.

it's damn spunky and rough.
it's also really harmonic/semblant (don't know the right word) with mostof what they've previously had on the covers.

i can't say that i like this one. after the amazing cover art in nurse (and everything else in the past however many years), i figure they would've kept the trend going.

then again, thurston has been saying that "rather ripped" is going back to the stripped down, more rock and roll feel and this cover does possess a very DIY rock aesthetic to it.

i just think that murray street and bad moon rising are such great front covers for albums and i dont really like this one. its too plain.

hmm... i really liked the one with the mirror and the eye, so i'm quite dissapointed by this, as it's nothing special..

Oh man, this album is going to suck worse than the last one.

I think it looks really dumb and generic. I don't think it is going to be the real cover. The one that looked like a toilet is better.

I'm thinking more along the lines of Minor Threat.

Black Flag was Goo.

If this IS real, then I think I like the other one better.
