Magik Markers
 

So I was playing Magik Markers in my dorm and a guy who was listening to it said it sounded like the devil being raped. I don't think that it's quite accurate description but hilarious non the less. I like the Markers but theiy're not that good. Anyway I thought I'd share it with you all.

I don't like them. People here do. That's all I have to say.

Although the Magik Markers don't really "play" their instruments, they are a fun band to watch and rock out to. As much as I like going to see them, I can't believe they have made it in any way shape or form. If they can get a record deal and tour with bands like Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr, then my band will be fucking crazy!!!!!

markers are pretty much at the head of my list of bands to see at ATP
closest I've come to seeing em was seeing Pete Nolan and Marcia Basset (Double Leopards) doing a Spectre Zaimph show in Edinburgh which was actually pretty sick... got some pics will upload shortly..

I couldn't get into them. On record not being able to play guitar sucsk to listen to. I'm sure it'd be fun live htough.

she is like that friend you had for ages and all of a sudden you realised how gorgeaous she really is (in a superficial way) after like 6 7 years of knowing her. and lo and behold she likes you too and has been habouring these feelings for years because the friendship was worth too much and then the drunken night happens and literally in the space of a couple of hours the friendship is quite literally fucked! and now you cant even stand in the same room as her as the embarrassment of "we used to be such good close buddies" topic is successfully avoided for the 656th time in a year but she still remains a dear dear friend.........

The Markers are great.

magik markers are coooooooool

they are fucking playing berlin on the 1st of december a few days after erase erata and mv/ee! i feel so spoilt.

they are one of the best live bands around if you ask me and i will start a poll if asked nicely.

i'm listening to NxCxHxCx just now and it's whooping my ass pretty hard... the guitars sound like huge pits of gravel being shifted around, whilst the drums trundle along like a ruined locomotive attempting dangerously high speeds

Ah, yes, nothing like the good old college dorm critique sessions. Back in my day I remember everything from White Light/White Heat to Exile on Main Street to On the Beach getting trashed by some pretentious rock-critic-wanna-be idiot who probably hadn't sat still long enough to put down his beer and really listen to the music. It was always the loudest and most obnoxious critic who seemed to have the last word, of course. Glad I never listened to those jerks and played whatever the hell I wanted.
