When listening to a cd...

Do you skip tracks?

i never ever skip tracks on cds... i can't bring myself to do it.

how about you?

porkmarras 09.09.2006 02:20 PM

Often.

TheDom 09.09.2006 02:24 PM

oh yeah

nicfit 09.09.2006 02:25 PM

oh,yeah!
as a matter of fact, today i realized that with itunes i can simply upload on the ipod the songs that i actually listen to of every album, avoiding the annoying skips of the same traks every time.am i a genius,or i am not?uuughuu?u? kidding, but it's true.i had an enlightenment (sp?)

Inhuman 09.09.2006 02:25 PM

yep, all the time. There's too many bands that have filler tracksa

k-krack 09.09.2006 02:33 PM

pfft. no respect, you guys got.

porkmarras 09.09.2006 02:35 PM

Necessary i'd say.

nicfit 09.09.2006 02:36 PM

i respect my ears and tastes, that's what i respect!!!h ahaa ha

Everyneurotic 09.09.2006 02:42 PM

i hardly skip tracks

youthoftomorrow 09.09.2006 02:48 PM

well, it really depends on the album i'm listening to. for example, i rarely skip tracks when listening to SY but i skip tracks often when listening to the Flaming Lips.

cosmokramer 09.09.2006 02:51 PM

yeah, sometimes

porkmarras 09.09.2006 03:15 PM

I skip tracks on certain Sonic Youth albums and that doesn't mean that i don't know the song all too well.I tell you what,i even go as far as cutting out parts that i don't like or don't have time for on certain pieces of music.I butcher music,so what?

Glice 09.09.2006 03:22 PM

I skip tracks. With a good band you shouldn't need to, but there's not that many of them about. Often a band only has so many ideas.

The Fall, for instance, have never had a skipped track. Someone like Pavement, however...

k-krack 09.09.2006 03:37 PM

what can be skipped on pavement?! the only song i can even think of that i would ever CONSIDER (not do) skipping is Two States. just because of that riff...

porkmarras 09.09.2006 03:39 PM

Entire albums.

k-krack 09.09.2006 03:40 PM

I believe it's spelled "nothing". No need to apologize for the mix-up, though, cos it happens to me tons.

porkmarras 09.09.2006 03:41 PM

Apologies then.Look,i'm sorry see?

k-krack 09.09.2006 03:46 PM

i said theres no need, you silly thing.

porkmarras 09.09.2006 03:55 PM

Give it a rest.Pavement suck a big meaty schlong.

HaydenAsche 09.09.2006 04:22 PM

Very very rarely.

Glice 09.09.2006 04:50 PM

Pavement have a couple of songs I like, but if I listen to more than three or four tracks I start noticing his voice, and at that point I rip it out and throw it into the face of a child, so it's generally better that I don't listen to too much.

porkmarras 09.09.2006 04:53 PM

If i have to rep Glice once more it means leaving the premises, getting on a train and bringing a virgin round to his house and on a silver plate. But it's too late for that.

porkmarras 09.09.2006 04:54 PM

.......and gmku wont let me either!

Glice 09.09.2006 04:55 PM

No no, you can still get the 1120 and the 1225. You might have to get a taxi from Temple Meads though.

porkmarras 09.09.2006 04:55 PM

But gmku wont let me?

k-krack 09.09.2006 04:56 PM

i love malkmus' voice.

porkmarras 09.09.2006 04:59 PM

Good.I love chicken noodles. It's good to love.

Glice 09.09.2006 05:00 PM

I love most things that aren't Malkmus' voice. Like Kenicke, for instance.

Ah, young Lauren, why must you spurn me so...?

porkmarras 09.09.2006 05:02 PM

Will she ever get old or what?Is there a secret rule that says that certain people are allowed to regress and therefore look younger the more they get older?

Glice 09.09.2006 05:06 PM

Yeah, I think she's secretly East-Asian.

Ooh, that's a point, MIA's got good stock, she's gonna look hot for another million years.

porkmarras 09.09.2006 05:11 PM

Eternally.Those eyes.And that skin.And that body.And that hair.And that voice.And those songs.

porkmarras 09.09.2006 05:15 PM

Is it me or i can hear my windows media player playing a Nirvana's short version of 'The End 'by the Doors?

Glice 09.09.2006 05:19 PM

No, I can definitely hear that too.

Actually, I'm still listening to those Non interviews. The best thing since ever, I suspect.

porkmarras 09.09.2006 05:27 PM

Yep,they are very good indeed.Do you not think that when indie rockers (or whatever)do the 'irony thing' they should be pelted by piss filled bottles? That is a problem i have with Le Tigre a lot.Even though i enjoy some of their songs,i generally don't like the idea of them existing.

Glice 09.09.2006 06:04 PM

Ah. I agree entirely with the sentiment, but I've rarely had as good a time as at the two Le Tigre shows I've seen. I mean, the music is good, and fun, but the people at the gig were soooo cool. Cool in the sense of being fun.

Cardinal Rob 09.09.2006 06:21 PM

Hm, let's see. I do skip some tracks, but I do come back to them. After hearing a track I don't like on an album I will hear it again. The first thing I can think of is Frankie Teardrop by Suicide. It's just a drum over and over for over 10 minutes, and Martin Rev screeching sporadically. Usually, I play entire records though.

finding nobody 09.09.2006 06:40 PM

To get the full effect of an album you gotta play it all the through.
I hardly ever do it

Rob Instigator 09.09.2006 08:28 PM

i never skip tracks
it annoys me when others do it!

cryptowonderdruginvogue 09.09.2006 08:33 PM

it depends on the artist and the album
