I think I'm quitting smoking
 

I'm tired of it. I've been doing it only for about a year and today I've only had 3 ciggerates and I have two more left in the pack, which I might as well finish. The only reason why I'm thinking of quitting is my lungs/chest were soooo sore all day today. And everyday and everytime I cough light brown stuff throughout the day or sometimes in the morning it looks sorda blackish, it's really gross... But anyway, I'm not even a heavy smoker really, a pack usually last 3 days and I usually end up giving some to people. So once the two are gone I'm gonna try to quit. Wish me luck and thanks for reading my journal entry!

i am seriously in need of quitting now. when you cough blood in the mornings then you know its time to quit.

I quit two weeks ago. Was nothing hard. I barely think about smoking.

that's indeed a sign to stop i'd say.. i never even thought about starting to smoke. with my lung condition, it would be the worst idea i had anyway.

I alwalys had the attempt to pick up smoking, but it is a waste of money.

I haven't bought a pack since late March....I have a couple when I'm drunk though.

It's actually gone pretty easy. My throat is killing me right now though, and my chest/lungs were still sore today. I guese it's normal to cough up pure black shit when you stop? It happened twice today and my theory was since no more of the nasty tar is constantly sticking to my lungs it's all coming out. I haven't had a cough today like I usually do though...

When I wake up I can't stop coughing until I've had a smoke. My throat itches and I feel like shit. I love smoking.

Smoking is cooler than people, and will outlive it. So if smoking can beat death, it must just be that all these people smoking are pussies, right?

i think he means that because smoking kills and is so bad for you, yet people do it anyway regardless of the health risks. still though some clarification should be in order.

Isn't there a difference between ignorance and beligerance? That is, if you know about smoking killing, you aren't ignorant of the fact that it kills?

But that's a choice.Smokers know that it's bad for you and that explains the occasional quitting so i still don't understand how that's meant to be ignorant in any way.

Being "ignorant" doesn't mean that you don't understand that smoking kills, it just means that the reality of the idea doesn't click. And if that's the case, then by the time it actually does - you're already addicted. Then a whole new issue arises and much more difficult choices have to be made that can't be considered "ignorant" anymore. The ignorance would only occur during the initial starting of it.

Well, I've cut back alot, only had two today and both were just given to me. I was going to stop on the way home and get some but all the stores were closed, this sucks, espeacially if people call you yelling for 30 minutes at you because they think you stood them up...

I bought 3 packs today. I was thinking about at least cutting down a bit but fuck it. School sucks. Work sucks.
