no they are not aprecciated enough by the general public Daycare.

Actors are so not indie.

Robert Downey, Jr - who will hopefully be given more attention now. Not so long ago, he was mostly talked about for his bad behaviour, which cost him some opportunities. If I remember well, Woody Allen had happroached him for a film but had to back off when the producers' insurance company asked for a big big amount of money if Downey was to be in the cast. There was something more or less similar with Robert Altman (I think he was to be sued when the shooting of a new RA film was about to start).
Now Colin Farrell seems to have taken the bad boy seat, hope it's gonna bring Downey more interesting projects (I'm waiting for A Scanner Darkly).

I really dig the late Chris Penn, for The Funeral & his duo with Tom Sizemore in True Romance.

Bridgette Wilson is really underrated. She's extremely pretty AND she can act (even in a picture with Jean Reno). Time producers use her for her talent rather than her body & face. She was Tom Di Cillo's Real Blonde.

Robert Downey, Jr. is fairly well-appreciated, although maybe not as much as he should be. Don Cheadle, John Turturro, David Thewlis, Willem Dafoe, & Gary Oldman are others like that.

I loved A Scanner Darkly. People should rent Chaplin.

Robert Downey Jr was great in that. Good movie as well.

As for underappreciated actors...

I can't really think of any.

He's done a ton of great films, most of his great ones are indie and don't get a lot of press, and apparantly he's supposed to be great on Law and Order but has yet to win an emmy and I don't even think he's been nominated.

Yeah. I loved Thumbsucker, I thought he did great. Along with Tilda Swinston.

Vencent D' Onofrio is awesome on Law and Order.

Are you serious? It's the most phenomenal show on TV. It's the only reason I'd ever consider buying cable again.

Parker Posey - hot and under appreciated

Noah Taylor is underrated. The Hollywood films he gets in are all blockbuster shit where he plays a side role. But he's in some great arthouse Australian films which suits him to a T. 'He Died With a Felafel In His Hand' a prime example.

Steve Buscemi, i haven't seen him in a movie i don't like, and he is magnificent in every role he does. just watched Fargo last night, too.

Jennifer Connelly is not only a great actress, but one of the hottest ones I can think of.

From what I've seen, I think Ryan Phillipe is a really good actor, though his prettyboy look pisses me off.

After seeing Cillian Murphy's performance in Batman Begins I went back and watched his other stuff and was pretty impressed. Red Eye sucked, but he was good.

Alice Krige, from what little I've seen, has always been great.

I agree about Steve Buscemi and Colm Meany, too.

That's correct.
It's a pity Hollywood hasn't utilised Kelly in more versatile roles, as he is a wonderfully captivating character actor. Arguably, best known for his performance and unsettling screeching cries of "Warriors, come out to plaaayyy", from his debut on-screen role!
Kelly's tight-lipped expressions and attitude made him appear like a grenade with the pin pulled.

He's mean looking.
