Thurston in London May 31
The Union Chapel is a fantastic venue.... this is great news.
Probably going to go providing I don't have an exam the day after.
nice!
Just spotted that Thurston is playing on the same night in London as Steve.
Disappears are playing at the Borderline on the 31st... |
Johnny, I'd watch closely what's going on in all the venues round there or at least the ones that matter (xoyo, cafe oto, camp basement, the grosvenor, the miller, the dalston area in general). You never know.

so i'm guessing John Moloney and Keith Wood will be joining Thurston for this show now seeing as Sunburned are playing in London 3 days later.
I have 2 spare tickets for the show that need a "happy home". If anybody has any interest PM me
btw GREAT venue. roll on 31st cheers |
Willing to buy a one ticket. I really want to go. PM me. we can meet right before the gig
I PM'd you ctb, let me know if you still have a spare or if anyone else on here might. I saw SY on NYE, but haven't gotten the Thurston-solo experience in ages, so would really love to go.
see you at church!
I'll probably be banned from the board for saying this, but I found the show a bit dull. With a couple of exceptions, it all seemed rather same-y, and there's not one song has stuck in my mind.
Are you saying the songs didn't sound as good as they do on Demolished Thoughts?
No, I'm saying I found the songs, and thus the whole performance, pretty uninteresting.
yeah.....I can see that. I'm not really that impressed with Demolished Thoughts....Kind of a bummer....but I'm probably gonna miss Thurston in the summer.....fuck seeing him play at a outdoor fest.....

I agree. It was focused on the last LP only and sort of merged together. Nice to see but hardly epic. I think the biggest crowd response was to Psychic Hearts title track at the end. Beautiful venue though and there was a moment mid through when they got a nice dischordant echo goin on. Oh yeah, and I liked the harp action! |
of course he's gonna focus on his new lp, i really liked the show and the venue is very nice.
according to setlist.fm, that was the thurston's one for the London show:
