what is wrong with this? i couldnt post for 18 hours, it worked like 10 minutes per page... now it started working, i had to reset my password to be able to login... grr

Yeah, chabib explained somewhere on the new forum that due to the closing of the old board, the new address was having problems. I forgot which thread chabib posted it in.

I hear you marleypumpkin. The days the board was down were the first time I did a goddamn thing at work in two weeks.

The sad thing, I'm not even contributing anything worthwhile on here. I'm talking complete bullshit just for diversion.

the old forum is gone. kaput. finito. erased. deleted. DEAD.

for a few days, this server was only hosting the forum and not the entire SY site. after actvating the whole site i had to modify the APACHE web server configuration file and the MySQL cnf files to accomodate the traffic loads that the site was taking. in order to do that, you need to let the traffic hammer the server and take it doawn a few times so you can see what the thresholds are. i think i did a pretty good job. it was 2.5 days of intermittent connectivity.
