holy-reverb!! 07.11.2006 03:30 PM

seafood and punk rock.

acousticrock87 07.11.2006 03:30 PM

Hahaha. I love how it zooms out and he's randomly holding a guitar. That was unexpected, but somehow inevitable.

finding nobody 07.11.2006 03:35 PM

raaad. i love it

Danny Himself 07.11.2006 05:43 PM

Is that ...Thurston's place? I remember seeing Byron Coley at the exact same place in the Murray Street Doc. Where is that?

jennthebenn 07.11.2006 06:10 PM

"i only eat squid!"

"you like Hell?"

thurston doing watt's voice was mildly jarring.

Danny Himself 07.11.2006 06:13 PM

Haha, Watt doesn't even talk like that either, so whats he on about?

acousticrock87 07.11.2006 06:18 PM

"Ya, I know him, he saw Voidoid! 100 times!"

Haha he sounded like the cockroach guy from Men In Black.

Northampton, MA. Byron lives near there too, since his daughter and Coco rock out together. Holy damn do I wish I had that many records.

The best part of it was the "all I eat is squid". Thurston's Watt voice sounds more like someone off the Sopranos.

Ripchord 07.11.2006 07:14 PM

I gotta say, the best youtube vid is Thurston playing at the Montague Bookmill because i was there last week.[/random]

LittlePuppetBoy 07.11.2006 07:18 PM

I am impressed by his massive vinyl collection in the background

That has to be 5 000 bucks worth!

Dan 07.11.2006 08:14 PM

yeah, people always like to film thurston in front of his records for documentaries. I never noticed he has them all in plastic sleeves though. that's crazy, i could never do that-- they're so fussy!

Cantankerous 07.11.2006 08:18 PM

I had to turn my volume all the way up to hear that, there is way too much bass on it. Thanks though. His impression of Mike's voice is amusing.

Alex's Trip 07.11.2006 08:21 PM

Anyone else think Thurston sounds a lot different when talking on stage than when in interviews?

Daddylikes 07.11.2006 08:29 PM

Yeah, he does. He affects a deeper more ominous sounding sparser voice during stage banter.

Cantankerous 07.11.2006 08:31 PM

He does that when he's sexually harassing me, too.

Daddylikes 07.11.2006 08:45 PM

I'm not touching myself right now (oh yes I am).

Yeah. During interviews I have to turn my speakers all weird to actually hear and understand him and he sounds different.

SugarLips 07.11.2006 09:06 PM

this is great.. I like how Thurston is bending the strings .. seafood & punk rock.. Mike Watt is the nicest guy, I got to meet him at a little coffee shop in Pedro, he will be playing there again August 4th I think ... if I go I'm going to ask him if he likes seafood, he told me about going boating, he was going the next morning after the show before he headed off to Europe again..

GrumpyOldMan 07.11.2006 11:25 PM

Yeah I saw that. I didn't click on the YouTube link but it's a deleted scene from the Minutemen documentary We Jam Econo. If I see Sonic Youth at the Avalon in Boston, I'm want to shout to Thurston at the top of my loungs "You saw Voidoids a HUNDRED TIMES!?"

You should go up to Thurston with a friend and introduce him like that. Shake his hand, then turn to your friend and say, "Ya this is the guy I was telling you about,. He saw Voidoid 100 times."

RdTv 07.12.2006 07:33 AM

Great clip. Seafood and punk rock

Tokolosh 07.12.2006 08:46 AM

Very enjoyable. Thanks. That's one of the biggest private record collections I've ever seen. Wow!

guitarpro 07.12.2006 03:02 PM
