Saw 'em last summer at the Newport Folk Festival doing an acoustic set.....pretty interesting...never have had much exposure to them...I guess I prefer who they've influenced over the years.

I saw them last summer. It was the highlight of the whole summer. Amazing show. I was sick as hell and I had a blast. They'll probably play Debaser. When I saw them, they played all the classics off of Doolittle, Come On Pilgrim, and Surfer Rosa, as well as one or two things off of Trompe Le Monde.

I didnt realize they were touring again this summer. Are they just doing festivals, or are they doing a full US tour?

They are doing some European festivals, which are possibly the last shows they'll do.

So were all the rumors of a new album false?

I've seen their rider for this festival (my gf works in the festival crew) and they had strange fucking requirements.

No alcohol though, they don't seem to drink at all.

I saw them last summer, it was the best moment of my life.

And Frank Black said he tried writing new songs for the Pixies but they didn't feel genuine, they were just trying to recapture their old spirit instead of creating something new.

i saw em in november05 in toronto. pretty killer. check franks face when he screeches a la, "cariboooooouuuu" and other.. real screeches.. there common enough, yl see. his face gets all twisted and distorted.. its ugly, but awesome. have fun, i did!

pixies concert I saw was probably the best show Ive been to. they're as tight as it gets, and even though I knew none of the music I had a blast

really? if i remember correctly, kim was drinkin (and smokin i believe while pregnant too!) up a storm. it was kinda upsetting.

I love the pixies, but i dont think a new album would work well, cos like they say themselves, it would (likely) be alot less genuine, and a little forced, trying to get that old spirit. I was happy just to hear old songs, and was lucky, as i wasn't even alive/of any good age when they were around.

I just bought the Pixies Sell-Out: 2004 Reunion Live DVD today, it's an incredible performance. Kim was smoking through the entire thing, and I swear Frank was drinking a beer between the main set and the encore.

And I actually hope they do indeed record a new album... or at least I hope I can see them soon.

Last 2 or 3 months: motorhead, sisters of mercy, depeche mode, buzzckocks, franz ferdianad, morrissey, pixies (16.7.), pere ubu, cul de sac, calexico, liars, no neck bb, wilderness, earlies, misfits, agnostic front, and shakira (15.7.). There's more, but smaller ones. Can't remember now...

Dude, they ALWAYS play Debaser. They are one of the best live bands I've ever seen. Genius. You'll enjoy it. I know I did.
