Toilet & Bowels 03.20.2010 08:49 PM

Last year not all the RSD items made it to the UK, hopefully it will be different this time. I will still make the 100 mile trip to me nearest independent record shop to see what i can grab...

greenlight 03.21.2010 06:14 AM

have to make sure I'm off this time!

This Is Not Here 03.21.2010 06:42 AM

I'm afraid I don't know anything much about Record Store Day. What stores in London participate?

Genteel Death 03.21.2010 07:21 AM

I'm glad All Ages Records are participating. I'd like to have that CIS vinyl. There's also a 12'' by Neu, which would be nice.

noisereductions 03.21.2010 09:05 AM

I find this disappointing after last year's offers. I mean, I guess it's cool if yr an LP collector, but I would've liked some exclusives.

tesla69 03.24.2010 04:05 PM

Kims in NYC has both last years record store days split 7"ers on the wall for $25.

surprised they didn't jack up the price after reatard died.

they also have Cat power undercover 7" for $50. I think I'm open to selling mine at that price.

radarmaker 03.24.2010 04:16 PM

None of the SY stuff seems to be on the UK list: http://www.indierecordshop.org/?p=316

Neither does most of the other stuff I want. Hope it's just a work-in-progress for now...

Rob Instigator 03.24.2010 04:30 PM

I am most def getting that white CIS re-issue!!!!!! yeah!

and that fucking Hits R 4 Squares I never got to get! on vinyl nonetheless!

corrected
I misread the original post

I will be very disappointed if this is the definitive list...

Rob Instigator 03.25.2010 09:37 AM

just enjoy the day communing with fellow vinyl lovers
stop yr whining

Rob Instigator 03.25.2010 09:38 AM

eternal 03.25.2010 09:46 AM

are all Record store day vinyls available at all stores or do they select them or something?

not really sure how the whole day works...

Rob Instigator 03.25.2010 10:09 AM

each record store must participate in an of themselves, so they essentially are responsible for ensureing certain of these items are available at their own stores.
my guess is if they think an item will not sell they will not pre-order it for their particular store.

wellcharge 03.25.2010 11:26 AM

i phoned my store last year and they never got in any of the ones i asked about

Haha Rob not whining at all... (if you were referring to me)

I just want to make sure that I get the double Hits vinyl on the day.

I come here in peace...

stu666 04.12.2010 01:48 AM

i've just emailed my nearest participating shop to see if they're getting the SY exclusives in, i'll let you know what i find out. last year they were very helpful.

Each record store orders what they want - but then they get allocated based on demand. If there are 1000 SY Vinyls, and 500 stores order 10 each, they'd all get 2 (obviously).

The Toronto record store I spoke to recommended I arrive 2 hours early and line up if I wanted any of the exclusives... guess I don't want them that badly.

The recent trend seems to be releasing things in a different format for Record Store Day (ie: white vinyl, while a black vinyl version may get pressed shortly thereafter etc). There are a couple exclusives this year I'd want, so here's hoping I can score a couple of those at least...

I spoke to the staff in 3-4 participating stores on Saturday, and apparently it's only Hits Are For Squares over here.
There's still a good £100 worth of stuff I'd like though, so that's not such a bad thing really...

this wasn't the case last year, some items were strictly USA only.

stu666 04.12.2010 11:15 AM

Soundclash told me they will be getting the SY records but didn't say which ones. last year i waited for the shop to open and i was first inside and had about 5 mins before anyone else came in but i was only alowed to buy one of each, which is fair enough.

toxic johnny 04.12.2010 02:03 PM

Yeah I'm going to have to do a bit of research... I'm guessing that Rough Trade East will stock the SY goodies here in London.

they probably are. you can;t trusta "DJ" anymore.

too many just spin CD's and then "scratch" on a little electronic rotating platter. stupid as fuck I say!
the worst are the fucks that just play shit from their I-Pods.

SuperCreep 04.14.2010 08:50 PM

any confirmation whether or not EVOL will have bubblegum on it?

rappard 04.16.2010 02:06 AM

Hits Are For Squares LP available in Dutchland according to http://harryprenger.wordpress.com/20...tore-day-2010/ - so if anyone wants me to pick up a copy, drop me a line.

Please note that postage won't be cheap due to its (12") size, see http://www.tntpost.nl/voorthuis/pakk...sis/index.aspx for rates.

Cheers,

Martin

CHOUT 04.16.2010 10:21 AM

stu666 04.17.2010 05:55 AM
