I went to see The Who last night.
Man, it was great. They played like half of Tommy as an encore.
My Generation, too. They closed with Substitute. You didn't even notice the absence of two members with Zack Starkey on drums (Ringo Starr's son). Maaaan. So discuss the Who, I guess. |
Did they manage to explode mid-gig?
|
Nah. The crowd did though- I was standing next to an old guy and he just started screaming and doing air guitar. Must've got to him.
|
Cool man.....tix pretty expensive? I wouldn't mind going if someone paid for me.....ha ha.
|
Hah, Pinball Wizard used to be my favorite song. I haven't heard it in some time.
I wouldn't mind seeing The Who if tickets weren't too expensive. |
how come that book pete townsend was writing hasn't come out yet?
|
I'll go see The Who when they invent time machines.
|
It's a stretch without John too....again I'd go if "some dude" paid.
|
pete townsend managed to shrug of that peadophile thing well didnt he?
|
Ha ha....yeah good point. You had to know SOMETHING was up with all his "booty shakes" and all.
|
He didn't shrug it off as easily as Billy Preston.
|
'Who' played bass? To replace both Keith Moon and John Entwistle is inexcusable. That was a rhythm section.
They'd probably be one of my favorite bands if their stuff was more raw like Live At Leeds. I'd say The Who Sell Out would be their only studio album I enjoy all the way through. |
It's not the who anymore. Just like Queen aren;t queen anymore but yet thay still parade around saying they are.

About £20 a ticket I think. They were going for £50 each from sellers outside the venue on the night. Quote:
No, they didn't, sadly. They played all the other ones you said though. Quote:
Some spanish guy, though I forget his name. He was pretty good. |

i always though that was fair dodgy... i was.......researching i never really like The Who, but i'm glad you had a good time at the gig. |
Did they sell nappies on the t-shirt stalls?
|
Quote:
yeah, they have crotchless ones. |
Good for them.............and their current fans i assume.
|
gary glitter is gutted that he didn't think of them first.
|
Did they change the lyrics to My Generation to 'I hope I get old before I die'?
I've always wondered that. |

Haha, nope. I was thinking it strange too. It's like the whole 'sonic YOUTH?' joke. Get on MSN, man. |
Yeah, I sometimes surprise people by telling them Kim's age. I'm working right now, buddy. I'm gonna try and hook msn up here soon though.

Hah. I'll stick around in case you get it working. |
I hope I die before I turn into Pete Townshend.

|
Yeah, you're right. It's about 3am.

I don't have too much interest in seeing the Pete and Roger show. They do WHO tunes...may have more or less been the front men...but it's NOT The Who anymore.
John Entwhistle and Keith Moon were too pivotal in the Band...to continue.....in that entity. If these guy's had just played some straight ahead stuff...OK, maybe...but they were so unique stylist's. The Who died in 1978. |

so you've been reading Cobain's journals. so what? |
I saw The Who about five years ago in a warm up for one of their Albert Hall charity gigs, and it was just a terrible nostalgia fest. They just looked so fucking bored.
Did you get a "Boris the Spider", or have they retired that post-Entwistle? |
Quote:
Must've been retired. |
