Until recently I only had Misery is a Butterfly, which is great...but I had no idea how good their earlier music is...I got two more albums this week (damaged lemons and fake) and they are excellent....does anyone else love them?

Fake is my favorite so far....but I like damaged lemons quite a bit too--I like them both better than butterfly....They don't really have that many albums, I was surprised.

Fake is boring to me. It is decent and shit but it's like their Rather Ripped or EJSTNS. Good album but compared to the other shit they've done not even worthy of a mention.

Ha! That seems appropriate that our tastes would differ in such a way.

The one released on Smells Like Records is good, I don't feel like looking it up, or getting out of bed to go find the name. You know what I mean.

They are one of my favorite bands that are still actually making music.....I've seen them 7 or 8 times. I can't wait for them to tour again. I bought their first two albums from Smells Like before I had even heard them before back in the day.....glad I did.

La Mia Vita Violenta is the SLR release. I had to get smokes, it was a reason to get up.

La Mia Vita Violenta is deffinitely my favorite. I can't fucking wait for their new album which will deffinitely mean some good ol' US touring too.

was intrigued by them when i was younger as an edgy Sy style noise band... when i finally heard them i was a tad disappointed by how straightforward they were... still decent tho... i'm quite partial to melody of certain damaged lemons... in an expression of the inexpressible has got some cool moments too

i second that. LMVV is their best imho, secod would be Fake and then maybe In an Expression of the Inexpressible.

I agree......that's my sentimnetal favorite. I love them all though. Water, Kazuality....I love it.

and its great. If u like Misery, u may like all of their others even more. Misery is my least fave.

Miser is just their most ecletic because their sound changed into more of a "european" kind of thing and focused less on some of the guitar things they did in the past. They're probably going to continue in this direction..

I've heard damaged lemons and enjoyed it. It sounded a little different than how I was expecting it to sound, but I definitely need to check out more of their albums.

Thanks ! It's a very nice song. Actually, I've had 23 and Misery Is a Butterfly on my computer for years but never heard them so I decided to listen to 23 yesterday (because I saw that they are coming to Brussels in September) and wow... Tickets ordered.

I've just listened to their self-titled... Sonic Youth all over the place ! It's not really a bad thing but it almost sounds EXACTLY like SY...

Some sounds perhaps, but not the songwriting imo.

Just listen to "Astro Boy", it could be a SY track, seriously.

nono lots of people say their first 2 albums "are like sy", I just don't agree much except for some "sounds"/bits in them...

especially the drumming seems different except when he uses the maracas. it's been along time since ive listened but his drumming maybe is more subtle than steve's (nothing against steve!) w/ a slight jazz feel to them.

hmmmm... I like the new track

I quite like the new song, I like how it sounds production-wise and how different it is from some of their other stuff. I'm actually pretty excited about this record now.

Their new record and Superchunk's come out the same day, sweet.
