Name change for Sonic Youth
 

I think Sonic Youth should change their name. They can hardly be "youth" anymore if they're all in their 40s/50.

So, does anyone have any suggestions?

Sugestions for new names that is.

I reckon 'Thurston and Wife' would be a good one.

or maybe 'Thurston, Wife and Friends'

Washing Machine would have been a good name.

I guess when they get really old....

Thurston Moore and The Noisettes

Thurston has said before that their name SONIC YOUTH, is not THE sonic youth, and it in no way refers to a specifically aged person. i is a state of being, a state of SONIC YOUTH> get it? therefore they should retain their name forever.

Thurston, Wife and Friends is too long.

A name like Savage Animal doesn't come along everyday. It jus rolls off of the tongue. SAVAGE ANIMAL.

Yeah, I don't really like him either.

New names for SY. How about: The Ass Blasters. Or The Lurkers.

Say it with your fist in the air. SAVAGE ANIMAL

Almost as good of a name as SKID ROW

What about.......as a mark of defiance 'We Will Never Play in Standard Tuning'

Either of these would be excellent. 'The Gmkus' would also be a good name.

The youth will always be spiritually and mentally young. Dig?
No need to change the most awesome name for a band.

There was already a band called The Lurkers. 1st generation punk group.
