i can't find this in the ticket line link or in the site of the venue for april in lisbon...where did you get the info?...i hope this news are right...please! |
the news are right. i guess it will be on that site pretty soon.
ok i will check it.thanks.
Moshe how come there's no mention of these dates either?
April 18th Barcelona April 19th Madrid April 20th Madrid will there be a full tour this summer? i'm still hoping they play ATP with Pavement |
the Spanish dates will be announced on Tuesday.
Oh man, I was afraid there wouldn't be another chance of seeing them in my country (or in my city), but the dream has come true. \m/
here we go....
Hmm, so, Pavement will be at Coachella on the 17th April and in Dublin on the 4th May. Does this mean Mark will come to Europe with SY for a quick tour and then go back to Pavement?
I'l be there!
Thanks SY! I'll be in Porto's Coliseum!
ah! ah! i've got my ticket right now...lisbon here i go !!!
I hope there will be more dates up in the North Europe, maybe even in Helsinki.
Marc will probably stay with the better band and kiss Pavement goodbye. I mean really who wants to leave Sonic Youth for another band?
I already have my Porto tickets!! SY, we'll meet again! :)
man, I'm thinking to go. hopefully it's not sold out yet. I think I'm buying tick. 2morrow.

Porto or Lisbon? I think both are still far from being sold out, today there was 1000+ tix left for Porto.;) |
Yeah, there are still plenty of tickets, you can see that on www.ticketline.pt
I haven't seen any posters on the street yet...or any publicity for that matter, maybe that explains why they are still selling slowly. |
Quote:
the only publicity i saw was in one radio (radar fm 97.8 - and that's the only i can hear) in some blogs and that's it...this country it turns to be very very sad! |
It happened very quickly, I'm sure we'll some tv ads and street posters soon.
there was no adds whatsoever in Ireland either. none. not even posters. it was only on ticketmaster. it was still sold out. so it's not only Portugal. don't be surprise if you won't see any.
I've seen a poster on the street yesterday, but only that one.
By the way, the Porto concert is almost sold out, only a few tickets left! |
There was no publicity in London either and it sold out straight away.
Flying to Portugal to catch both shows!! hehe x |
so much wanted to go to Portugal, coz I've never been in Portugal yet, but the return flight was bit pricey, going to Madrid show instead, at least I'll be able to see Sensational Fix. hope I'll catch both shows there...
any tips on getting from Lisbon to Porto? best way to go etc...
both airports are fairly near the venues.
The train takes about three hours.

On other news, it seems that Lisbon's lucky bastards will have a Lee concert with Rafael Toral the night before SY on the Galeria ZdB. You lucky bastards! Tickets cost 10€, and more details here. |
Puta que pariu para Lisboa. O norte também precisa destes treats.
Yeah train looks like the way to go, thanks for the tips, I should be ok although i always put off planning till the last second.
Btw- this is fantastic news about this show, you think this might sell out? Times New Viking is also playing. |
Georgekrz are you happened to be in Europe that time or you flying over because of SY? are you planning recording it? audio, video?
shoot some home movies for sure! have 1 week vacation time left that I have to use by end of April so timing is perfect... Really looking forward to checking out the scene over there in Spain/Portugal.

By the way, for those still interested in coming to Porto and don't have tickets yet: the tickets that were available are almost sold out, and so the organizers decided to open the gallery (it's a balcony on the top of the room), which means there's around 1000 tickets available now, these tickets cost 22€. |
Opening act. Sorry i forgot the right term.
lol..that's not what I meant. I meant that I'd rather not have an opening act and have SY play for more than an hour and a half.
Tuff luck then. I'm going to enjoy Manuel Mota. Judging from the latest setlists, there is going to be very few non-eternal song played, so ...
