A proud supporter (though not that proud this season):

Other than that:

(they're way better than the Rotterdam kokots, pokkeherrie) :)

pokkeherrie 12.23.2009 03:54 AM

(the 2nd pic is not showing)

If you mean they have more Slovakian players, then yes. :)
If you mean they're higher ranked in the league, then yes too.
If you want to hurt me then you have to post a picture of A**x.

Stoch's doing well. If Feyenoord can't win the league this season (and they really can't) then I hope Twente wins it. Mclaren is a bit of a twat though.

_slavo_ 12.23.2009 04:01 AM

Stoch's one of our rising stars and I think he'll have his day in the light in the upcoming World cup ... he's still only 20!
It's true if he didn't play in Twente I wouldn't have noticed this team at all, but I started liking this club much recently since they have many skilled players and I like the way team plays.

pokkeherrie 12.23.2009 04:16 AM

Isn't he on loan from Chelsea though?
Brrr, in a couple of years time you'll have to support Spartak London!

Twente do play attractive most of the time, agreed.

True.
There are many promising youngsters in our national squad these days (Weiss - Man City, Stoch - Chelsea/Twente, Hamsik - SSC Napoli, Skrtel - Liverpool, etc)

Same. Though I haven't closely followed them for a few years, because without pay tv, the only chance of seeing them is in the champions league at 4:30 in the morning.

Skrtel's been a shower of shit this season, even though he has the coolest name ever; 5 consonants and one vowel!

My Dads got a biography about Clough too, he was definitly the model for Mark E Smith.

GeneticKiss 12.24.2009 10:56 AM

I was gonna say the Steelers and the Saints, until I actually read the thread and realized it was about real football (more or less known in America as soccer), not American football...

Really, it makes a whole lot more sense to call soccer "football" since it involves a lot more use of the feet than American football...

My dad told me years ago that they call American football "football" because the ball's a foot long...but I'm not sure I believe that.

Can't think of a name of that sort in mine.
We have butchers and others - job-related; but strangling people was not considered as a profession, just a pastime.
I'll reconsider traveling to the East.

As for teams, well, I'd go along every club Cruijff played for, even though he's left the party a couple weeks ago.

My supporting is linked to a player - years ago I would have supported Lazio because of Nedved; as soon as he would leave the pitch, I'd be hoping for the rest of the team (Mancini ahead of the others) break a leg.

Nancy, Liverpool, Bordeaux, Arsenal and Tottenham (this year), Villa... I had hopes for Aalkmar, I wanted to have an opportunity to watch another Dutch side but, well...

Dr. Eugene Felikson 12.26.2009 05:29 PM

None. Sports suck.

in the late 1800's american football was running the ball and kicking and punting the ball. no forward passes. Only using one's FEET.

SonicBebs 12.30.2009 09:13 AM

Bolton have sacked Megson

and at such evens, this is invariably my favorite team

and as of now, I do too.

But my usual teams: Glasgow Celtics, and Liverpool. Madrid over Barcelona. Anyone over Chelsea, Rangers, or Roma.

In some ways that's the more interesting question. I certainly get almost as much enjoyment watching Spurs or Chelsea lose than I do from seeing West Ham win. Which currently means that I rarely get much pleasure at all from watching football.
