I prefer the electronic sonic 1-3 and sonic & knuckles soundtracks wayyyyy more. especially the sonic 3 (credits are going to michael jackson) soundtrack is badass. its so good that michael jackson used some of the chord progression afterwards on one of his (not so good) albums

for me it was Smells like teen spirit, i remember hearing it in a huge tent at some kinda festival thing in canada when i was about 12, blew me away!

before that no rock music ever apealed to me until then, i just couldnt help noddin my head to it!

TSOL got me into punk rock when I was 12.

But I can't really remember a time when I wasn't interested in rock, since I grew up with it around me my whole life.

it was back in 94 when they played it on mtv. i was eleven.

til then i listened to hip hop cuz it was what my friends all listened to. then i heard this song, and realized that i could actually like rock too.

I honestly can't remember rock not being about. I say this full aware that I sound like a prick, but I remember listening to the Pistols, through my brother's bedroom wall, when I was 5 or so, and I'm pretty sure I would sing Who songs from even younger from my Dad.

As long as I've listened to music, I've enjoyed rock music.

there was no one song... just a gradual exploration. my parents mostly listened to folk music on npr, but their copy of sgt. pepper got a lot of play from me as a kid. i remember checking boy out of the library repeatedly before i realized i could dub a copy to cassette. the first album i actually spent money on was

I can't remember what band or song got me "into" rock music. I've always liked crunchy guitar riffs, so I guess my interest has always been there.

Though I can tell you Cowboy Bebop got me into jazz, so I can understand where summer's coming from...

Yes! Cowboy Bebop is also what set me off on "Hmm maybe jazz is something I should look into." Of course, so far I haven't found much I truly love besides Charles Mingus and John Coltrane, but hey, at least it got me something, haha.

i think what first got me into rock was sneaking into my older brother's room when i was ten, seeing the cover of Ride the Lightning and deciding that i should definitely be into heavy metal.

thankfully, the music wasn't half bad either.
