I love those ones...The spiderman ones are good too.

RIPfrey05 06.18.2006 08:54 PM

You guys cant possibly fathom the impact of pokemon on my life..

Alex's Trip 06.18.2006 08:58 PM

I loved Pokemon too. And I think part of the reason I thought it was so funny was because I knew exactly what they were talking about.

couldn't have put it better myself

luxinterior 06.19.2006 11:55 AM

That video is embarrassing, but not quite as embarrassing as the time my brothers and I had an in-depth discussion about the plural names of Pokemon.

Vulpix --> Vulpii

trance feeeedback 06.19.2006 04:58 PM

that video was great. Know what used to piss me off? when people would call it po-kee-mon, it's po-kah-mon!

Alex's Trip 06.19.2006 05:23 PM

Those didn't bother me...it was Poh Key Man that bothered me..

SolidZach 06.19.2006 07:21 PM

ha ha

acousticrock87 06.19.2006 07:35 PM

I always thought "poke-uh-mon" sounded bad. "Uh" is a very American sound, and we just have to put it into everything. They even tried to save it by adding an accent above the e. But alas, the schwa wins out yet again.

I just looked it up. The games came out in America in 1998. I'm never believing anything you say anymore.

Alex's Trip 06.19.2006 08:11 PM

lol...I still loved the card game either way...

acousticrock87 06.19.2006 08:13 PM

The card game was awesome, until I got into high school and everyone else thought it was stupid. So I tried to fit in and threw mine away. Sigh. I still miss Articuno...Was always my favorite. The others were rubbish.

finding nobody 06.19.2006 08:16 PM

i still have all my cards! the game boy games are the shit

I sold mine. And then later got into Yu-Gi-Oh. That was a great game too.

finding nobody 06.19.2006 08:28 PM

i never let myself get into yu-gi-oh. cause i knew it would big waste of money like pokemon was

I would have guessed I was into it around 96 too if I didn't look it up. Hah Sailor Moon. Not something I was very fond of but I remember it.

I missed the Yu-Gi-Oh train by a couple years, but my friend got really into it. Paper crack.

umjammer atomsk 06.19.2006 08:30 PM

I never really liked the show but I watched all of the original episodes. The GB games are rad as hell and the cards were awesome when I was in 4th grade. In 5th grade I switched to Magic the Gathering and Mobile Suit War, though.

Saturnine- Sailor Moon rawks.

umjammer atomsk 06.19.2006 08:37 PM

My friend has all of the Sailor Moon movies on vhs. I'm considering buying the complete dvd box-set with my birthday money.

umjammer atomsk 06.19.2006 08:40 PM

Subtitled or dubbed?

umjammer atomsk 06.19.2006 08:45 PM

I was just wondering what generation the things were.

acousticrock87 06.19.2006 08:47 PM

I don't like subtitled anime. As authenitic as it may seem, I believe subbing animation is a waste of effort.

umjammer atomsk 06.19.2006 08:49 PM

I like some subbed, like Miyazaki films because I fucking hate hearing people like Shia LaBeof and the rest of the Disney crew voicing awesome characters.

acousticrock87 06.19.2006 08:54 PM

Hah I remember back when I tried to manually sub movies with rendering crap. I must have spent three hours learning how it worked to get this marvelous dialogue:

Because I couldn't guess that...

I agree...I'm too preoccupied with the action sequences to be bothered to read the words onscreen. And besides, I think people really exaggerate how bad dubbed anime is.

Having said that, I often put subtitles on, even for movies in English. I think my hearing is getting progressively worse, and it doesn't help when actors mumble (not that I mind when they do, I just have to put on subtitles so I can catch everything).

finding nobody 06.19.2006 08:56 PM

i still have power ranger sheets.
i dont like much anime. full metal alchemist is pretty good

Ya I used to do that with Scottish movies like Trainspotting or Intermission. But I think the more I leave it off the more I get used to speech patterns for each movie. So I risk missing a couple lines to get my ears warmed up. And I can never take my eyes off of subs when they're on. Even when I can understand it, heh.

acousticrock87 06.19.2006 09:02 PM

That's like saying I hate country, but I love Brooks and Dunn.

umjammer atomsk 06.19.2006 09:05 PM

I have a powerpuff girl bed-set and a plush Hamtaro toy.

acousticrock87 06.19.2006 09:08 PM

お宅.

luxinterior 06.19.2006 09:10 PM

I have this thing for Hellsing. It is just a thing. I don't like to talk about it.

Those things are fucking weird...

The YuGiOh Card game kicked the Pokemon card game's ass. It was much more complex, and involved a lot more strategy. I was really good too. If I still had cards, I'd still play in tournaments...

umjammer atomsk 06.19.2006 09:13 PM

Hellsing is pretty awesome. I never got into the Yu-Gi-Oh! craze.
