Break-up band game

You go back in time to whenever. To make sure that this band _______, is never formed, they never release a song or even play together. No one would've ever heard of them and you would never have to sit through their shitty music on the radio, etc. Which band would you choose?

I would choose Metro Station, their song Shake it makes me want to kill myself. Now you go.

Everyneurotic 01.25.2009 11:31 PM

"shake it" is a great song, better than fleet foxes and no age combined.

joe11121 01.25.2009 11:45 PM

i can't stand it

StevOK 01.26.2009 12:26 AM

Linkin Park. Coldplay... I could really go on and on, and I don't want to dwell on the vast abundance shitty music on the radio.

acousticrock87 01.26.2009 12:34 AM

This thread is going to get whiny.

GeneticKiss 01.26.2009 12:42 AM

Yes, probably.

I choose Creed.

pbradley 01.26.2009 12:51 AM

The Velvet Underground

GeneticKiss 01.26.2009 01:24 AM

You are either making a sick joke or trying to make some misguidedly ironic statement.

Everyneurotic 01.26.2009 01:34 AM

i finally have my answer.

i'd like johann sebastian bach to never form.

^ HA! Well I don;t know Dino Jr. has a few good songs, but they aren't my favourite. But yeah, like i said few good tracks, pretty good band, nothing special.

atsonicpark 01.26.2009 09:08 PM

Yeah, Dinosaur Jr. has like 3 good songs.

Pax Americana 01.26.2009 09:21 PM

Kid Rock. Fuck that guy.

Oh and Coldplay, though they were already mentioned.

Everyneurotic 01.26.2009 09:25 PM

That's right, I forgot you dislike them.

IMO If you have checked out You're Living all Over Me and still don't like them, then fair enough. But if you've only heard their later stuff, go back to the Lou years.

terriblecanyons 01.26.2009 09:42 PM

DICKELBACK. For sure.

Everyneurotic 01.26.2009 09:47 PM

ramones

acousticrock87 01.26.2009 09:52 PM

I don't really like Dino Jr., but I can't see anyone disliking them enough to waste this decision on. That's like, "You get one wish." "Okay, I wish for $100."

Everyneurotic 01.26.2009 09:56 PM

i can't see anyone taking this thread seriously.

on the other hand:

bruce springsteen.

Hahha, i agree! They are a decent band. But there is much worse crap out there

Kloriel 01.27.2009 01:38 PM

there were ten of the finest beige curtains ever crafted by Woman. The ten curtains were draped over a 16x12 ' semi circular concrete pit in a picnic area. The picnic area was about five miles from the parking lot of a state park. the park consisted mostly of pine trees. Anyway in the picnic area there was this concrete pit bout four feet deep and someone draped ten beige curtains over the lip of the pit. The cloth covered about 87% of the circumference and draped about 3/4 of radius.

How many sound checks were required for the Presidents of the United States of America show that would occur later that evening?

Animal Collective, just to troll hipster fags.

But in all honesty I'd go for Bullet for my Valentine. If I see one more scene kid wearing one of those shirts I think I'll have to eat a baby.

Again.

atsonicpark 01.27.2009 10:38 PM

I prefer "Bug".

ZEROpumpkins 01.27.2009 10:43 PM

I never got into Bug, and for some reason I can't stand Freak Scene.

Freak Scene
The Wagon
Severed Lips

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 01.28.2009 06:10 PM

Animal Collective and Mars Volta are good answers.

But I'm going to say U2.

If it wasn't for them we wouldn't have Coldplay, we wouldn't have Explosions in the Sky, we wouldn't have the Postal Service, and a bunch of other lame sucky U2 inspired bands. And as a bonus we wouldn't have U2.

The only negative would be that those 5-6 good songs they did would never have been made.

joe11121 01.28.2009 11:41 PM

Yeah, U2 are pretty bad, along with the bands that are influenced by them, it would be a good chain of shit to get rid of. But, seriously. Animal Collective, they're the worst band someone could think of? They're awesome. And really how could they be the worst for anyone? Well, different tastes I suppose.

atsonicpark 01.28.2009 11:47 PM

My favorite dinosaur jr song is let me ride.

Silent Dan Speaks 01.29.2009 09:16 AM

Anything that would have stopped the formation of coldplay would be ok by me.
