Yeah, lame band, lame fans, lame everything. But what I know is that the songs on this album are incredibly written and just make me feel really happy. If you can look past your elitism, then I honestly give this a high recommendation.

another album i used to love. i haven't listened to it in years, but the last song is really good if i can remember correctly.

I like them all personally. Just a good set of songs.

Yeah I've considered buying some of JEW's (bahaha, what a great acronym) albums, but I'm hesitant. What's Static Prevails like?

Yeah this record is really good. Loved it when I was 13.

That reminds me, I think my next classic album post will be about a sunny day real estate album..

The last time someone told me to look past my elitism was for Poison's "Talk Dirty To Me."

pennywise is the best just because a dude in the band died.

JEW is quite an underrated band, quality-wise. I don't think they've ever sucked, and they're well aware of their talents and shortcomings. I really don't think they've made a bad record. Bad songs, yeah, but they always come out ahead.

I asked my girlfriend for Clarity for Christmas in high school, and she had to go to like five stores for it. And now I always think of it as a Christmas album, which I think isn't far off.

Anyway, nostalgia aside, it's still a great CD.

Sweet, I might pick it up then.

What's wrong with Pennywise?

Well hell, any number of bands could be cool if that's the only criteria.

I like Bleed American better than this one, but it's still good.

I bought Static Prevails today, and I dug it a lot. I'd recommend it. I also bought Bleed American but haven't had a chance to listen yet. I remember I used to love listening to The Middle on the radio when I was about 9 or 10.

Bleed American is wonderful. "A Praise Chorus" is my favorite song on it.

i forget how young you are. i was 20 when that song came out.

I wasn't as impressed with it as I was with Static Prevails, though I agree that A Praise Chorus is the best on there.

Bought this yesterday and I'm really liking it. The last 5 tracks are so excellent. I think I still prefer Static Prevails, It's kinda the emo I prefer (i.e. more punkish).

I don't really like the old singer's voice. The only song that it doesn't bore down too much is Episode IV, which is fantastic.

A Praise Chorus was my favorite, too, but that was when I was learning the drums, and I played along to it way too many times. Same with Chop Suey by SoaD. Can't stand either anymore.

You can't stand Praise Chorus? That's one of the few songs on Bleed American that I can stand.

Really? I thought that was a great album, overall, and I can't really pick out any that are better or worse than others. I liked every song on it. But about half of them bring on a Smells Like Teen Spirit-esque nausea due to overplay. It was a combination of listening on my own, and just hearing it everywhere I went my first couple years in high school.

Maybe it's a little like Clockwork Orange. "I wanna fall in love tonight" evokes all the emotions of high school dating.

Haha, yeah I understand that. Especially the Teen Spirit bit. I just can't listen to it anymore.
