Anyone else digging this album? I can't stop playing it all day.

Just got it but haven't listened yet. Was just about to put it on!

For fuck sake. why aren't you a single girl? Games For Slaves is almighty.

Have they ever toured the UK? I know they're sort of German and sort of American but I'm not sure where they're based.

Love this video too. Don't know what it's off though. non more punk.

Some of them are based in California, I think, and 2 of them in Germany. Have you heard the LP 'Harmful Emotions' and the 'Nations Are Insane' CDR? Both excellent, especially recommended to fans of The Fall. The new one reminds a bit of New Order on certain songs.


My favourite song of theirs is maybe 'Destroy The Future'.

I've only heard Games for Slaves. Favourite tracks on that are probably Unfavourable Meanings and Occult Logic. It's got a really kinky 80s thing going on, but I can never decide whether that's just because of the German vocals - which always sound a bit dirty to me

They sure know how to give their songs good titles: 'Catholic Radio', 'Nazi Rainbow', 'Brown Sun', plus the ones you mentioned.

To be honest, when i first heard them I assumed they actually were from the early 80s. The New Order comparison is an odd one but it does sort of work. Thinking about it, Warsaw maybe even more on point.

I liked the first lp so I'm looking forward to this one. I think some of the people involved in der tpk are affiliated with the Jewelled Antler Collective. That's pretty much all I know.

Yes. It's one of the best from last year as far as I'm concerned.

I've played it 21 times since December 7 2008.

haven't got the new one yet, but these guys are one of my favourite bands from the last couple of years, the Gelich Heilt Gleich 7" is probably my favourite record of this decade so far.

Yeah they are associated vaguely with Jewelled Antler. One of the members actually has a side project with a member of the Skygreen Leopards and the dude from Blessure Grave (who is an acquaintance of mine) called Hollow Tongues, you should check them out on myspace.

Because they cast a sinister spell on me and I can't stop playing their records. I think it must be the 60th time I've played this in a week.

Then Zola Jesus must be a strong witch. Around 150 plays in last 5 days, as my last.fm counter tells me.

Ive been enjoying Games for Slaves this week, its very very Dragnetty and definitely has the same subterranean and supernatural murky feeling as The Fall from that period. All the more apt that its in German. I might break my year long gig-going hiatus if they ever come to town, they sound like a scream.

I can certainly hear the sound of early Fall seeping through this lot, as well as very early Joy Division and even a bit of Cabaret Voltaire too. Sounds very nice too, sayeth I.

I have investigated these Digital Files per your recommendations, and have come out with full enjoyment. Very Joy Division-meets-Fall, but most enjoyable. I was expecting it to be more "raw" or something, but that is not a complaint. Great album!

According to their myspace blog, two of them live in the states and go to Germany on holiday once every year, so the chances of seing them live are slim, I assume.

Yes, I read about their SF/Berlin/Aachen (I think?) diaspora... but maybe if their profile rises they'll start thinking about touring some day.

Ouch... the worst I've been invited to in the past year or so were Pearl Jam and Kings of Leon.

There was some speculation about their German nationality, to which one of them posted on their myspace blog about. Is the singer really a 40 year old man? He looks way younger than that.

I considered Fischerspooner because my mate wanted to go, but i was invited out on a date to see Kings of Leon recently and i said no, correctly.
