AOL Download 06.13.2006 01:57 PM

Hey guys, I'm working on a new show for AOL, and we wanted to know if anyone headed to the show tonight was bringing a camera with them or would like to do a video blog recap of the show. This can apply to not just the CBGB show but any of the others on the tour. Sorry for the short notice. Please e-mail me and let me know. Thanks so much.

Tokolosh 06.13.2006 02:06 PM

I won't be there but it's gonna rock for sure!
Have a great evening... lucky few people.

mushmanski57@hotmail.com 06.13.2006 09:21 PM

So they should be on by now...

drrrtyboots 06.13.2006 09:26 PM

And 24 hours from now they should be on in philly..fuck yes i can't wait.

mushmanski57@hotmail.com 06.13.2006 09:29 PM

I wonder what the setlist is... think we'll know within a few hours, as in will people from the show come and post reviews/setlist afterwards, do you all think?

mushmanski57@hotmail.com 06.13.2006 09:29 PM

And only another little less than 2 months until Toronto. Woo. I wish it was sooner.

pigiron 06.13.2006 09:33 PM

Please. A setlist from anyone that saw the show. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very, very much.

drrrtyboots 06.13.2006 09:35 PM

I'll be sure to post the setlist from tomorrow's show and any good pictures i can get.

mushmanski57@hotmail.com 06.13.2006 09:49 PM

Thanks very much.

vertex 06.13.2006 11:52 PM

The show tonight was really good. More old songs would have been nice, but the new songs work really well live.

Here are some pictures I took, including one of the setlist. I'm definitely not a photographer by any means, so don't expect anything high quality.

^Cool pics....wow they played RR all the way through.....hmmmm, didn't see that one coming.

Magic Wheel Memory 06.14.2006 12:37 AM

The show was very good, but I would have liked more balance between old and new. They filmed it.

Jef Mertens 06.14.2006 01:29 AM

So it seems Lee plays the acoustic part of Or. I hadn't noticed they played this song with the use of an acoustic guitar in Paris last April.

photo's look awesome.

A whole set of RR? Great, so most of the time Mark Ibold does the bass parts of RR as well? Leaving Kim without an instrument, or am I mistaking?

Was Chris Habib taping?

HaydenAsche 06.14.2006 01:36 AM

Only Shaking Hell and Eric's Trip from the old days? Lame.

vertex 06.14.2006 01:42 AM

Yeah, Lee played the acoustic part of "Or." About half of the song included him knocking on the body of the guitar with his knuckles as added percussion.

I think there were 3 songs where Mark played the bass part while Kim was just left singing / dancing. A couple songs had two basses though. I can't remember which ones.

toxic johnny 06.14.2006 02:20 AM

Thanks for posting Vertex... I'm surprised that they played the whole of RR in order, I don't think that they've done that before... I mean play an entire album from beginning to end.

Moshe 06.14.2006 02:47 AM

They did all of murray street on terrastock v

Tokolosh 06.14.2006 02:48 AM

Great pic's Vertex. Wish I had been there.

a thousand leaves, but not in order.

mushmanski57@hotmail.com 06.14.2006 05:19 AM

Thanks very much for the setlist. I'm betting this won't be the kind of setlist you'll see on most shows this tour, they did it today I bet because Rather Ripped came out today and they were playing at CBGB's. I'd expect the other dates to be a bit more mixed up.

logcabinrecluse 06.14.2006 08:03 AM

steve buschemi likes sonic youth. me too.

screamingskull 06.14.2006 08:16 AM

Kim looks great in those photo's, i can't believe that she's saying her aging bones can't take anymore touring!!!

wishful thinking 06.14.2006 10:33 AM

Meeting them all beforehand and getting some pix and autographs made up for the fact that it was an abbreviated set. I didn't think it was billed as a record release party (was it?), but it was still incredible. The new songs just keep getting better and better. Thurston rocked the shit out of Pink Stream, while Jams Run Free and Turquoise Boy were simply sublime. Love the double bass action. Long live Mark Ibold!!! Lots of shouting for Pavement songs, which I found amusing. "BOX ELDER" "IN THE MOUTH A DESERT". Unforgettable day and night.

Had a blast hangin out with you, hooligan. And no, I didn't end up staying at her place. Oh well, you can't have everything. "What would we be without wishful thinking".

Pax Americana 06.14.2006 11:20 AM

Nice pics, Vertex.
