I have a wierd line down the display on my monitor

But seriously, I just got this snazzy widescreen monitor, and this line appeared out of nowhere. I can't stop looking at it. It has halted all my functionality.

The point of this thread was actually to see if anyone had any suggestions on how to fix this. Floatingslowly, it's a brand-spankin'-new monitor, so is it defective, or is it some kind of setting? It's some 21-inch widescreen bastard, so I don't know if I have to change display settings and all that. Komputors are not my forte.

Get a new monitor. They aren't made to be fixed when they go bad. That's what is wrong with today.

What kind of screen is it ? Plasma ? LCD ?
If this monitor is new, I suppose it is still guaranteed, so you can bring it back to change it.

Is it a red line straight down the middle?

If so, then I've had that happening to my monitor for the past year. I've gotten so used to it that I don't notice it anymore.

I'm not sure what operating system you use, but I doubt that there's a setting to create an annoying line on yr screen. you can try adjusting screen resolution, but that's an unlikely fix.
