...why isn't up for pre-order yet on SY store? Didn't SYR7 go up for a pre-order a month before its release?

Don't count on it, I pre-ordered SYR7, they got my order mixed up somehow, & I received my copy several weeks after the release date.

Kung Fu manages to have something go wrong more often then one online store should. Just my personal opinion.

My SYR7 got forgotten as well. I had bought a digital copy the day of release though anyway. Plus, Kung Fu gave me a free GOO record bag and a bunch of SY stickers to make up for the mistake.

I had some issues with Kng Fu too. But it got sorted.....

just got an email that says mine shipped yesterday!!!

I got mine yesterday, I still haven't listened to it all yet, so I guess that will be my first listen today.

Yeah, I was actually shocked how quickly they got this shipped. I was expecting a long wait for the pre-order to take affect.

Sweet, I had found mine in the mailbox late at night forgetting to check the mail. I believe a package had been delivered on the same day by UPS. It slipped my mind after receiving something already.

Needless to say, it was a very interesting listen in the late evening hours.

Yeah. Buy it. I mean, c'mon it's put out by the band's own label and it's cheap. Just buy it from them so they can actually recoup the costs of production and eventually make an SYR9.

I have to side w/ stu here. SYR7 is different I believe. The whole no CD copy thing does make a difference in some peoples lives, sadly. So it's a generosity of sorts to go through the trouble of ripping it & sending a download link of say mp3's, not high quality flacs.

Basically just giving the fan chance to hear it is all, but this is really not complicated, $11 CD, 1 track, go buy it.

i have to say that Ive listened it before it was released, and thats the reason why I will buy it...

What was yr summary of Kim's trumpet playing? I found it to be simple of course, but I rather like how she fused her vocal/lyrical style composition w/ her trumpet.

you know, i just put it on and stopped trying to make up what was making which sound, i just let the whole thing hit me; at some points i was going "damn, this sounds sweet" and took a moment to recognize the saxophone or merzbow's shit, and then i drifted again. i don't remember what i heard or when i heard it, but i like the overall sounds and the structure of it all. at first i thought was too stereotypical sy and feared the worst but after the five minute mark or so, it was fine.

i still need to listen to it more.

Speaking of which, Steve's role in this was very low-key to say the least. He did his usual little drum roles & beats on an SYR-like release, then really just left it to the others to construct the piece.

I've only heard it all the way through once, so I'll have to give it more spins myself.

I need to get this, I am tired of all this pop bullshit I have been listening to.
