scarlett johansson
couldn't find the other thread...
anywho, i really like that new song of hers has the album been released yet? |
"I like her new album" = "I want to shoot my load over her tits"?
|
doesnt everyone?
|
Quote:
not me. I wanna shoot as deep in her as possible. let her feel it from the inside and shit. |

If it wasn't for Scarlett being "well fit, innit", would anyone give the remotest shit about her acting career?

hipsters are into scarlett? no wai!
she's hot but that's about it. |
I can't understand how she polarises people the way she does. She's not a bad actress (Ghost World, Lost in Translation) and it's fairly safe to say that she's quite an attractive woman. I've not heard her music and I doubt it'll be something I care for, so until I hear it and am convinced otherwise, I'll just pass on it. How she's become some kind of a joke in so many people's eyes both baffles and kind of irritates me. She's a Hollywood star. No more, no less.
|
Perhaps my lack of cutting her some slack comes from suffering "Lost In Translation" when it came out. She was good in "Ghost World" for sure, but, er, I dunno, I guess I'm in a bitchy mood tonight...

here ya go, her music video for the new song. http://perezhilton.com/2008-04-29-wo...ow-bad-this-is and live http://perezhilton.com/2008-05-16-no...ld-have-though as a musician she's like an un-tallented Chan Marshall. |
And maybe I'm in an unusually forgiving one. I dunno. I actually thought she was excellent in Lost in Translation, a film I like, without thinking it's the 'cult classic' some seem to. Anyway, I just think that in today's dross-dominated Hollywood she's hardly way up there in my list of hate figures. I'm sure her success is down primarily to her looks, but come on, since when has Hollywood been bothered about much else - at least when it came to women?
|
Tis true - we don't expect Hollywood to be churning out Chekov stage actors of either sex. Y'know, I think what gets me goat is the ubiquity of media types wafling on about her. So in fact I'm blaming her for something she's not got any control over. There's a point here about how our opinions on people can be shaped (no matter how much we try to deny it) by the media.
Bearing in mind the above, I'm going to withdraw my previous comments re Scarlett. It was more than a tad unfair of me, I think now. |
I just listened to both the versions all the way through and honestly don't think it's that bad a song. It sort of reminded me a lot of some of the lesser interesting Pogues stuff, where Cait O'Riordan sang instead of Shane. Let's put it this way, if that gets to numero uno in the charts I'd be a lot happier than if it goes to Kylie mogadon Minogue, or the like. Just like most of what she does, it's surprisingly half decent. Still not a patch on Paris Hilton's Stars are Blind, of course, but then few things in life are these days.

ha ha ha, thats because its a Tom Waits cover http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksbaPmRDa60 |

WOW! That's so weird, I was thinking it had a bit of a Tom Waits thing about it, but the mixture of her vocals and the Irish instrumentation made me think more of the Pogues. Anyway, listening to it again now, and beginning to think it could be a bit of a grower. I'll listen to the Tom Waits version straight after. Thanks for that Skullsy. |

somehow she went from being a cool indie actress practicing her craft to a Hollywood whore attached to some large breasts. I guess I'd do the same for $20 million dollars. |
![]() is it just me, or is that another tattoo on her arm? |
Well, I just listened to Tom Waits version and, while I'm sure this'll have me banished to the message board equiv. to the salt mines for saying it, I honestly prefer SJ's version.
And I don't even know about her whoring herself. Since making LiT, her choice of films has largely been quite good. OK, The Island wasn't great but most of the rest have been decent enough. Certainly a lot more interesting than those of 90% of her peers. I say she's still pretty cool and the fact she's managing to maintain at least some kind of identity within the whole HWood machine only strengthens my view of that. |
Quote:
nope, she is a severely under-talented actress |
This picture turns me on. God, I want to fuck her.

Woody Allen would disagree with you on that one. And before you say anything, she's far too old for him to have cast her for anything other than purely professional reasons. ;) |

yeah, you'know it's not like he married his daughter or anything. So we know he's not into younger women. |

|
anyone wanna give it to me through yousendit?????? ;)
this is a nice photo ![]() |
i will when i get the full album rosanna.... what you think of the tape i sent after.. have you gave it a whirl yet?
|
I have heard some songs off it and like those I have heard so far. I especially like "Falling Down", which is kinda Cocteau twins-like in my opinion.
|
Quote:
oh, yeah, i didn't want to resuscitate that mixtape request thread to talk about it, but Yes i did like it! |
Album is awful.
: ( |
i heard her version of anywhere i lay my head. it was so completely nd utterly horrible. one of the worst things ive heard, and its one of my favorite tom waits songs. why should she even try to cover him? he is one of the greatest musicians on the last three decades, why would she think that her versions would be worth anything.
i would still fucker like a rabbi with a bagel after yom kippur |
After one listen I'm not too keen on the production (the organ is too present and nearly all the songs sound the same - at the exception of a song with guitars which stands out, I think it was track 10). But I'll give it another chance.
|
Quote:
Yeah, I think you can hear Cocteau Twins / My Bloody Valentine (and maybe even Bowery Electric) influences in the album. Might more sound like a rehash though. |
she can't act for shit.
but i'd fuck the shit out of her. |
Quote:
I think that depends on the film, but it's true she's not a great actress on the whole and she just seems to nonchalently rely on her exceptionnal attractiveness (if that suited films like Lost in translation or Match point, in other films like A Love Song For Bobby Long well it didn't really work and just seemed inexpressive). |
Quote:
good stuff!!! glad you like! |
whenever i see a movie with her, i always understand the reason of existance for gagging balls.
|
After a new listen I like it much more, I just don't like track 9 (because of its cheesy 80s production).
|
i'm listening to it now. track two so far. i haven't heard any singing so i don't know how i feel about it.
|
The things I would do to her... it just wouldn't be fair for her.
I will never listen to her music. |
