The Breakfast Club

I recently saw this again, after many years...it was at the theater for a midnight showing..."Don't you...forget about me..."

Ally Sheedy's character was way better looking before Molly Ringwald did the makeover.

finding nobody 05.21.2006 08:27 PM

one of the best movies ever. "he has marijana, do you approve of this?!"

Пятхъдесят Шест 05.21.2006 08:39 PM

I don't get the fascination with this movie. Perhaps I'm too young.

i'm 16 and i dig it. you probably just dont like it

Пятхъдесят Шест 05.21.2006 08:42 PM

this is probably true...

Daycare Nation 05.21.2006 08:46 PM

I just went to the store and bought a copy, along with Ferris Beuller's Day Off.

Daycare Nation 05.21.2006 08:48 PM

Ahh, high school 80's movies..lol

finding nobody 05.21.2006 08:49 PM

i got breakfast club and big from a yard sale for under five bucks

Daycare Nation 05.21.2006 08:56 PM

Big--that's another good one. I forgot about that.

acousticrock87 05.21.2006 09:04 PM

I was just thinking about that the other day. They're remaking Ferris Bueller and everyone is freaking out, like they're going to confiscate everyone's copy of the original when the new one comes out. Whatever, they can do what they want. They'll fail, but whatever.

But instead of reusing a 1980's high school plot like Ferris Bueller (which is quite honestly a horribly stupid plot) why don't they reuse 1980's high school style? There's never anything like them anymore because everyone's trying to capture old movies by reusing the plot. That isn't how it works.

Daycare Nation 05.21.2006 09:06 PM

the style...Exactly...well put, acoustickrock87.

HaydenAsche 05.21.2006 09:07 PM

Decent flick.

Laila 05.21.2006 09:10 PM

haven't seen either, i hate the eighties. i perfer to pretend like it never happened

val-holla-ing 05.21.2006 09:12 PM

i like it. sometimes i look at my coworkers and tell them "you fuck with the bull you get the horns", but none of the get it.

these movies were bigger than the 80's. they're serious business.

acousticrock87 05.21.2006 09:15 PM

Not to mention the fact that Richard Edson is in Ferris Bueller. That alone is reason to watch it.

alyasa 05.21.2006 09:17 PM

Goonies, anyone?

acousticrock87 05.21.2006 09:19 PM

I actually haven't seen all of that.

That's stupid. 80s gave us Morrissey and Joy Divison.

alyasa 05.21.2006 09:22 PM

I love it.

alyasa 05.21.2006 09:23 PM

And Samwise Gamgee's in it, so...

krastian 05.21.2006 09:25 PM

I KNOW!

That scene pissed me off so much, she was the coolest character in that movie.

Daycare Nation 05.21.2006 09:57 PM

Hey! There's a member of Sonic Youth in Ferris Bueller.

...and yeah Goonies is great.

acousticrock87 05.21.2006 09:57 PM

I said that.

WHAT? WHAT? WHAT? WHAT? WHAT? WHAT?

HOW COULD ANYONE HATE THE EIGHTIES? The 80's was the golden age of alternative!

alyasa 05.21.2006 10:01 PM

I was born in 1980; so SY EP would have been released when I was 3.

acousticrock87 05.21.2006 10:01 PM

Also, there was this one band from the 80's. Sonic something. I don't know, but they were good.

Yeah, Kim Gordon was also in that pile of shit they called Last Days.

Sonic Youth does not make anything worth watching.

acousticrock87 05.21.2006 10:04 PM

It does for many fans.

Laila 05.21.2006 10:05 PM

about 95% of the music was shit, the fashion explains itself, and didn't the eighties have like the highest suicide rate?

alyasa 05.21.2006 10:11 PM

Yeah, in reference to the above, in America in the 80s, suicide was like the one of the top 5 causes of death.... :(

acousticrock87 05.21.2006 10:13 PM

The number 1 cause was epileptic shock walking into clothing stores.

I think the best music ever came from the 80's.

Laila 05.21.2006 11:29 PM

oh well it's just my opinion. I like music from all decades, but sy is the only band from the eighties that i like.
